clean. Then finally have the employees start getting ready for close down by

Duties: My duties consist of assembling the machine by installing the tubing

in the proper area on the machine then ensuring that the tubing is on the

machine correctly. (if the tubing is not correctly assembled the donor/

patient could loss blood if there’s a kink in the line)I begin the

venipuncture by finding my vein then I do a 30 second prep. Then begin the

stick after needle is placed I tape it down then tape some tubing to the arm

to support needle. After the process is finished I seal off all the lines

that will cause leakage then, cover needle stick with the gauze, take the

tape off (gently) and take the needle out. Put the appropriate numbers on the

bag and give it to the lab.

Duties: My duties consist of putting the empty donation bag on the scale and

connecting the tubing to the top to lead to the donors arm. The next step is

to find a vein, preform the 30 sec. prep then begin to stick the vein after

needle is placed tape it down then tape tubing for support after they have

given a pint of blood seal off tubing. Place gauze over needle stick and take

needle out begin applying pressure. Have the donor hold gauze while you

quickly seal the rest of the lines then hand them off to the MUOs finally

wrap donors arm and have them sit for a while to ensure their ok.
