Manager of Special Investments Vehicles Operations Group

Created operations group to serve in a treasurer function for investment vehicles for individual clients

and feeder funds. Responsible for all fund financial matters and service provider relationships

including cash management, spot FX execution, foreign currency hedging, monthly reporting, client

relations and for audits completed on time and without issues. Documented procedures and controls

to ensure streamline processing with attention given to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.

Successfully participated in a number of RFP’s representing the services of the group. Operations

group expanded each year over the 6 year period growing from 2 to 9 people as new business was

won. Participated in the writing and negotiations of limited partnership agreements for new clients.

Assisted in developing pricing that was market friendly.

Evaluated different technology options for limited partner reporting system to service several hundred

limited partners for the feeder funds increasing productivity by 800%.

Led the Custody Research and Search Team. Wrote bi-annual custody survey research paper

documenting custodian capabilities through research and bi-annual custodian survey. Completed

custodian searches for clients as requested via RFP process.

Active member of the firm wide Alternative Investments Audit Committee. Developed an audit

assistance workbook for clients that clients were able to use to streamline their process for the audit.

Became a resource within the organization for consultants and clients to advise on audit issues

relating to valuation.

Chaired and staffed valuation committee responsible for determining fair value of hedge and private

equity funds within investment vehicles. Developed procedures for the committee to follow and

documented analysis for the committee to review.

Conducted search and negotiated contracts for new service providers that realized a savings of up to

Participated in the launch of the Quality Assurance Group for one of the largest clients in the

organization. Evaluated new security types and established adequate and effective controls and

procedures within the custody and fund accounting area as they specifically relate to bank-wide

standards, industry standards, and client specific requirements.

Responsible for determining trade processing inefficiencies and initiated corrective actions to

increase straight through processing from 92% to 99.5% for various security types. Initiatives

included system enhancements, client adjustments and the establishment of an automated trade

reconciliation process.

Point of contact for the 2005 Internal, 2006 Internal, 2006 SAS 70 and 2007 SAS 70 audits for the

department that resulted in improved ratings year over year. Coordinated the Private Equity 2006

Team Leader for Mutual Funds Client Group/ Vice President (2003 to 2005)

Directed up to 65 staff members in the daily pricing of Mutual Funds, Stable Value, Commingled,

Common trust, Defined Contributions, Real Estate and Insurance funds. Oversaw internal and

external audits without any negative comments. Responsibilities included reconciliation with custody

and working with the client to ensure successful operation. Created and maintained service level

agreements with clients and associated business partners.

Led the conversions of 60 mutual funds to a new accounting system, 1,000 insurance accounts from

a previous service provider and several mutual fund mergers on insurance accounting. Actively

participated in three successful conversions from other service providers totaling $230 billion in

assets and over 140 accounts over a two-year period without any breaks.
