Overview
I am a Qualified B.tech graduate having around 5 years of Experience in the
areas of Erection, Commissioning, planning and Maintenance of Steam Turbine,
Generator sets, its auxiliaries and Quality inspection of TG piping.
Experience Profile:
Working for SEPCO-1 as Senior Turbine Engineer from 20th September 2011 to till date.
Worked as Mechanical Engineer in Vasavi Power Services Pvt. Ltd. From April-11 to Sep-11.
Worked as Site Engineer in Baba Engineers and Erectors from June-09 to March-11.
Roles and Responsibilities in SEPCO-1
Project: 4*300MW BALCO Power project -Korba..
Making of planning’s for Execution and also conducting of Pre-commissioning activities and
•
commissioning activities as per schedules in coordination with contractors.
Checking of alignments for casings, pedestals and rotors. Checking of clearances such as Flow path,
•
Thermal clearances, Bearing Interference and oil clearances, air seal, Air gap’s, oil guard, Fan guard,
Magnetic Centre line clearances etc.
Review of job progress, quality issues and safety issues with contractor site in-charges in daily and
•
weekly meetings and also conducting of Quality audits with contractors.
Preparation of hydro testing scheme and Conducting of Hydro tests for IBR piping and also for internal
•
piping’s of TG.
Coordinating the Alkali flushing activity for condensate and feed water systems including Drain lines of
•
Heaters.
Coordinating of temporary piping activity for Main Steam blowing. Preparation, testing of Target Plates
•
during the blowing.
Readiness of systems for Pre-Commissioning activities and Conducting of Pre-Commissioning activities for
•
condensate MAKE UP water system, OPEN cycle cooling water system, closed cycle cooling water
system, Stator cooling water system, Booster pumps, Generator seal oil system etc

Making of isometric layout’s, Quality inspection reports for TG piping and to ensure the required
•
procedures for Commissioning such as completion of checklist’s, LHS, test reports, SIR’s and punch
points.
Conducting of Auxiliary Steam blowing for the Auxiliary steam lines inside of TG and making of drawings
•
for temporary piping to conduct the Auxiliary Steam blowing.
Conducting of QA/QC test’s for inspection and making of Protocols.
•
Sending of Quality inspection reports (SIR’s) and letters to Client and contractors regarding planning
•
and quality issues.
Conducting of Vacuum test (stabilization test) for Make-up water tank
•
Checking of condenser TSP alignment, cleaning checking before Tube insertion. Cutting, Expanding,
•
welding and DP test inspection for condenser tubes and conducting of flood test for condenser.
Checking of floating (reliving pressure and reseating pressure) for safety valves and measuring of Blow
•
down percentage.
Conducting of oil flushing activities like Turbine lube oil, Jacking oil, and Generator seal oil.

Roles and Responsibilities in Vasavi Power Services Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad
Project: 100MW CCPP, TNEB-Kuttalam Tamilnadu.
Undertaking maintenance and Shutdown of Power projects.
•
Replacement of BHEL make generator in combined cycle 100mw power plant.
•
Checking of alignments, clearances such as Bearing Interference and oil clearances, air seal, Air gaps,
•
oil guard, Fan guard, Magnetic Centre line clearances.
Coordinating with the electrical testing team for conducting of electrical Test’s for Stator, rotor and excitor
•
such as IR, PI, DC winding resistance, RSO, AC impedance, visual test .
Making of Protocols for above tests and Preparation of documentation after completion.

Planning, co-ordination and supervising of manpower during over hauling and maintenance activities.

Maintenance of damaged valve, coolers and piping’s during maintenance activities

Monitoring the equipments for abnormalities during operation such as bearing vibrations, lube oil
•
temperature and pressure, pump mechanical sealing’s, cooling water systems temperatures etc.
Had knowledge on Excitation systems and Gas turbine operations.

Project: 6*135MW JINDAL STEEL AND POWER, ANGUL-ORISSA.
Erection of Steam Turbine, Generator Sets, its Auxiliaries and Condenser of First 2 units.

Auxiliaries include HP, LP, heaters, deaerator, MDBFP, main oil tank, MOP, EOP,AOP,JOP, coolers,
•
filters, CEP,GSC, vacuum pumps.
Checking of alignments for casings, pedestals and rotors. Checking of clearances such as Flow path,

Thermal clearances, Bearing Interference and oil clearances, air seal, Air gap’s, oil guard, Fan guard,
Magnetic Centre line clearances etc.
Checking of Alignment of condenser tube support plates.

Conducting of DP test and Leak test for condenser tubes and condenser respectively.
•
Conducting and checking of blue matching’s for TG sole plates, packer plates, parting planes.
•
Alignment and Centre line checking of Generator stator.
•
Rotor insertion of generator and checking of field Gap.
•
In charge for erection activities of Turbine, Generator, Condenser, Auxiliaries.
•
Co-ordination with Consultants & Clients during Execution activities.
•
Weekly, Monthly and Three Months Project schedule preparation
•
T.G BOX UP Activities Preparation work.
•
Making of Protocols and Co-ordination with QA/QC test’s for inspection.
•
Planning, co-ordination and supervising of manpower during installation, commissioning and maintenance

activities.
