Research experience
1. A search of the risk factors for development of coronary allograft
vasculopathy. I closely looked at 65 donor and recipient related
variables(demographics, perioperative haemodynamics,immunologic and
serologic data, postoperative rejection surveillance,data,etc). This study
involved 270 cardiac transplantations in 264 patients(operated at the
Oregon Health Sciences University from 1985 to 1997).
2. Hypercoagulable state after OPCABG – Myth or Reality ? 1999.
Future interests of research
1. Robotic cardiothoracic surgery.
2. Cardiac valve repairs.
3. Ventricular assist devices & artificial heart.
4. Foetal cardiac surgery.
My professional aims
1. Set up a “Heart-Lung Transplant program” for the first time in
Mumbai, India.
2. Set up a comprehensive Pediatric cardiac surgical program in
Mumbai, India.
2. “Practice cardiothoracic surgery in an environment which would help
me carry out my beliefs as a physician”.
