Recruited into VSM to start-up and organize a Human Resource Department.
Reported to the CEO and VP HR and managed four individuals in HR, payroll,
reception, and the mail room. VSM grew from 100+ employees and 25 stores
to 1200 employees and 185+ store locations in 30+ states. Areas included
administrative controls and compliance, policy and procedures, national
talent acquisition of retail and corporate employees, benefits negotiation
& administration, compensation development & management, government
compliance, employee handbook development & implementation, safety,
employee relations & communications, local and global training &
development & succession planning ensuring all aligned with the company

Researched, reviewed, and negotiated the annual $2 million benefits budget
allowing the company to remain competitive in the market and cost
