Hired to learn and spearhead a new software program ACTION OI, in order to begin providing quarterly financial feedback to the

Directors of the 250 departments within the hospital. I developed the method by which to upload the data into this new system,

created the reports, provided a one page summary as to my findings by department, as well as met with the Directors to make

recommendations for areas of improvement to maintain their budget goals.

Hired to provide financial analysis and direction to the practice group leaders, and to develop, implement and drive strategies and

key initiatives tailored to meet the firm’s overall growth objectives.

• Developed a monthly productivity reporting tool, to assist the Chairman and department heads in tackling the issue of low

utilization throughout the firm. This new report enabled us to easily drill down by practice area, office, timekeeper and

title, in order to more easily provide answers and recommend solutions to address the underlying problem.

• Provided the business development team with a new client reporting mechanism that offered an insightful and

revolutionary way of analyzing the financial performance of a client, via a comprehensive key performance indicator

dashboard. It set an industry standard for “best practices” of integrating financial metrics within a marketing discipline.

• Worked monthly with each responsible partner to develop effective and efficient financial reporting tools, to guide them

in their management decisions. Also provided business interpretation of the opportunities and challenges that each group

faced, and made recommendations on how best to begin seeking a solution to their problems.

• Actively worked with partners on alternative pricing scenarios/arrangements in order to meet the growing demand from

clients for flexibility in this area.

• Provided monthly analysis and assisted with business plans, forecasting and budgeting long range financial plans,

operating budgets and cash flow projections.

Hired to provide financial analysis and management reporting in the areas of practice group and matter profitability, pricing

proposals, client development efforts, evaluation of lateral partner and partner group opportunities, as well as other projects in

support of Steptoe's strategic planning committee.

• Developed office and practice group reports based on the four drivers of profitability to measure and analyze what factors

were impacting the bottom line margin. Then provided a one page summary highlighting key trends that the partners

could use to make management decisions and adjust their business plan accordingly.

• Implemented the cost component for the Business Intelligence software application Redwood, and educated the partners

on the underlying methodology. Upon assimilation of this reporting tool, I defined the data needs, relevant metrics and

reports which would best address the practice group leader’s critical business questions.

• Provided financial proformas, analyses and assessment of risks and opportunities, in evaluation of potential lateral groups

or merger acquisition partners. One recommendation led to the opening of two new offices in Century City and Chicago,

and another resulted in the successful acquisition of the Scott Group (which became the new lobbying arm of the firm).

• Rolled out a firm wide Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM) tool to assist partners in identifying cross selling

opportunities.
