Mechanical Engineer Construction May 2013 - Present
Designed Piping and HVAC systems to building and contractor specifications.
•
Stress Analysis on Piping Systems utilizing 3D modeling and Caesar I I 2013 R1.
•
Sized: Process Equipment, Fans, Air Handlings Units, Steam t raps, Louvers, and Pumps to
•
f it within the building parameters.
Onsite surveying of standing equipment or piping that needs refurbished or replaced.
•
Designed and sized instrumentation devices for Piping and Inst rumentations diagrams
•
(P& ID) and PFD.
Software used for designing systems: Caesar, Carrier: Hourly Analysis Program, Autocad,
•
and Inventor.
Designer ( Internship) PCS Engineering Summer 2012
Refined existing HVAC systems so that they would run more efficiently and save the
•
company money.
Worked in a team and solo environment in which we were given separate tasks and asked to
•
complete them within tight deadlines.
Ut ilized design engineering and application engineering in order to complete projects.
•
Software used for designing systems: Auto Cad 2010

P rojects
Fertilizer Plant Piping and HVAC Design (2013). Calculated heat loads from specific
•
equipment within the plant and used those values to size and route equipment to handle the
loads accordingly. Coordinated with vendors and the customer to identify the best possible option
for different design scenarios. Implemented standards, such as Nema, to ensure safe building
construction within Class 1 Div I I designation. Designed bill of quanti ties and specification
documents for use by the customer in the bid process.
Non-Paramagnetic Chair, Senior Design Project (2013). Designed a chair requiring a
•
non-paramagnetic field (no metals) to be used in hospitals for a precise brain scan. The chair had
to rotate 45 degrees left to r ight as well as elevate and lean back; and support a person of 300
pounds.
Formula SAE Th rottle Body/Intake (2012 – 2013). Designed a small barrel type throttle
•
body and diffuser using gas dynamics. Team leader for manufacturing and finishing the design to
be implemented on the 2013 running car. The design had to fit within strict specification both set
my FSAE and our team.
HVAC System (2012). Helped redesign an existing HVAC system under the supervision of
•
a p rofessional engineer during my summer internship with PCS Engineering. Utilized Heat
T ransfer, Auto Cad, and FEMA.
