WORK EXPERIENCE
A&D Daycare January 2014 - Current
I am a child care provider in the kinder room. I am responsible for a total ratio of 10
children while working in a room of 25+ children which range between the ages of 3-5
years of age. I plan educational, cultural and artistic activities on a weekly basis for the
children to take part in. I also possess additional experience working with children in the
nursery, toddler and out of school care rooms.
Hallmark June 2012 - January 2014
Sales associate. I am responsible for attending to customers (strong customer service
focus) – greeting them upon arrival, fostering a friendly atmosphere and making them
feel welcomed. I offer my assistance (the goal being to interest buyers in the merchandise
we sell) along with addressing any questions or concerns. I work on the cash register,
answer incoming calls, help organize the store and set up new displays as well as opening
and closing the store.
Old Navy March 2011 - January 2012
Sales Associate. Strong customer service focus, helped maintain the sales floor,
monitored change rooms as well as organization of clothing (returning the clothes in the
change rooms to display racks).
Woodbine Entertainment Group June 2010 - October 2013
For the past four years I have worked at Woodbine’s biggest event of the year – “The
Queens Plate" as well as smaller events which take place at the track. I had the privilege
to work in the private elevators and greeted and escorted all the VIP’s, including the
Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, on arrival and departure. This year, due to my retail
experience, I sold racing programs - finishing the day with the highest number of sales.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Terry Fox Run 2004 - 2013
Volunteered each year for the “Kid’s Tent” area at the annual “Terry Fox Run at Wilket
Creek”. I assisted with the set up in advance of the run and the clean-up at the end, also
engaged in activities with the kids (crafts, face painting and supervising the game areas)

on the actual run date. This is the largest run site in Ontario and is organized each year
by Four Seasons Corporate Office and the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto.
Girl Guides of Canada 2006 - 2008
Volunteered and assisted the leader in coordinating all weekly meetings (exploring the
arts through crafts or creating a dance, etc) and offsite outings (discovering the
community through outings to places such as a fire station, etc) with the “Sparks” and
“Brownies”. The program encourages girls to explore and discover their individual skills,
talents and interests along with making new friends, developing new skills and a
commitment to their communities through volunteer projects and special events.
Ronald McDonald House Toronto October 2011
I volunteered in assisting with the set up of operating supplies in the new Ronald
McDonald house in downtown Toronto. The Ronald McDonald House strives to provide
a sense of normalcy for seriously ill children and their families who stay there during a
very traumatic time in their lives – “a home away from home”. They also provide
necessary programs and support services to these families.
World Vision 30 Hour Famine 2009 - 2011
I volunteered for this fundraising event which raises money for starving individuals
around the world. All participants raised money for World Vision and did not eat for
thirty hours while educating youth in schools about worldwide hunger and poverty.
Link Crew 2010 - 2011
This is a leadership program I became involved with while attending David and Mary
Thomson CI - mentoring grade nine students starting high school. Every week we were
assigned a classroom and we would teach different learning strategies, along with
offering a helping hand with homework as well as any personal or in school related
issues.
Peer Leadership 2011 - 2012
This program took place at David and Mary Thomson CI - I was asked to choose one
subject I excelled in and was placed in a classroom once a week to teach my chosen
subject to the younger students.
