Duties: Spearheaded the committee to implement a community policing office in Dartmouth, managed a community
base police office that responded to the information and service need of the Dartmouth north end community, practice
the philosophy of policing as set forth by Sir Robert Peel, report to NCO., cooperated with drug and criminal
investigation departments of the Dartmouth police with information regarding investigations and drug busts, liaise
between the community and police as well as Crime Stoppers, Volunteers, Forsyth Learning Centre, John Martin
Junior High and all social service and Non for Profit agencies, taught and assisted with the development of
community crime prevention programs (P.A.C.E. now known as D.A.R.E., Block Parents, Neighbourhood Watch,
Women Beware, Citizens on Patrol, interviewed/recruited/trained all volunteers and ensured that minimum monthly
schedule and that participation was achieved, chaired the steering committee that coordinated the development of this
service, effectively assisted agencies/police departments with issues such as truancy, woman abuse, theft, prostitution,
facilitated forums on policing, housing and homelessness related issues, reinitiated Operation GO HOME for youth in
conjunction with other social and transportation agencies, assisted in restoring positive rave relations through
community forums and one-on-one interaction, developed and maintained annual operating budget
