WORK HISTORY

2010 to Present New Model “Acura MDX” Project Leader & New Model Team Manager/

Lead Production Manager/Staff Engineer Honda Manufacturing of

Alabama Paint Line 2

Responsibilities

• Paint Department New Model Project Leader/Staff Engineer to Analyze

and Introduce All New Models to the Paint Department.

• Supervise and Mentor Paint Department Line 1 and Line 2 New Model

Engineers assigned to Introduce through Start up of New Models.

• Mentor Material’s Team, Team Manager and Associates.

• Mentor All Teams and Team Managers within HMA Paint Depts.

2009 to 2010 Paint Materials/New Model Team Manager

HMA Paint Line 1 & Line 2

Responsibilities

• Supervise and Mentor both HMA’s Paint Line 1 and Line 2 Paint

Materials Team. Supervise Paint Supplier Teams, PPG, DuPont, & NB

Coatings. Ensure excellent Quality paint materials to be Supplied and

also Applied to all HMA Production Units on Daily and Long Term

Issues. Responsible for New Paint Color Development and

Implementation. Responsible for Body Line (Water & Solvent Borne)

and Bumper Lines (2K Solvent Borne) Paint Materials Quality, Cost, and

Inventories. Responsible for all Repair Line Paint Quality, Cost, and

Inventories. Work closely with all Paint Department Teams, and other

HMA Department Teams, to ensure Total Unit: Safety, Environmental,

Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, and New Model.

• Supervise and Mentor both HMA’s New Model Engineers to Introduce

through Start up, of New Models.

2008 to 2009 Paint Line 1, Project Leader to transfer the “Ridgeline” Truck

from Honda’s Canada HCM Plant, to HMA, Line 1

Responsibilities

• Total Responsibilities to Supervise “all” Teams at Paint Line 1 to ensure

a Smooth and Efficient Transfer of the Ridgeline Truck from HCM to

HMA. I had total responsibilities including Investment and Expense

Budgets and Projects. This was the First Time in North America that

Honda had transferred a model from one plant to another. The schedule

was Super Tight and was with a Minimum Budget. I also had to work

very closely the HMA’s Weld and Assembly Departments. The transfer

for the HMA Paint Department went very smoothly, was without a single

accident or Safety issue, was on time, under budget, and resulted with a

good Quality unit being produced.

2005 to 2008 Paint Materials Team Manager

HMA Paint Line 1 & Line 2

Responsibilities

• Supervise and Mentor both HMA’s Paint Line 1 and Line 2 Paint

Department’s Annual Business Plans.

2000 to 2003 Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Helped Design, Start up, and Over Saw Daily Paint Material’s

Operations at HMA’s Paint Line 1.

• Hired and Trained “all” HMA Paint Line 1 Maintenance Associates.

Hired and Trained “many” HMA Process Paint Line 1 Process

Associates. Traveled with many Associates to Honda Canada’s HCM

Plant. Worked closely with HMA Associates the setup training and

ensure that HMA Associates were properly trained at HCM.

• Mentored new Engineers, Process Associates, and Maintenance

Associates

• Team Manager of the Departments Cost Team. We calculated the

Departments Investment and Expense Budgets. We developed the

Department’s Annual Business Plans.

1997 to 2000 Paint Department Staff Engineer

Honda of America, East Liberty Plant, Paint Department

Responsibilities

• Staff Engineer/Manager of the Paint Department Maintenance Team. Set

up Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Program. Oversaw daily issues

and long term projects as related to Maintenance and Engineering.

• Was the Department Budget Analyst and help set up the Department

Annual Business Plans.

1990 to 1997 Facilities Department: Dept Manager/Staff Eng./Eng. Coordinator

Honda of America, East Liberty Plant, Facilities Department

Responsibilities

• Department Manager/Staff Engineer overseeing the Facilities

Department daily and long term issues and projects. Oversaw operations

of Facilities Manpower Teams and Equipment. Setup and oversaw

Investment and Expense Projects. Setup all Equipment Preventive &

Predictive Maintenance Programs. Was responsible for the Departments:

Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, and New Model.

1988 to 1990 Facilities Engineering Coordinator

Ormet Aluminum Reduction Facility, Hannibal, Ohio

• Design, Install, and Startup Investment Projects. Was Project Leader and

Designer of a $2,000,000 Dust Abate System. System was efficiently

installed on time and under budget.

• Worked +6 years as a Maintenance Foreman overseeing numerous

“Union” Maintenance Teams including: Millwrights, Electricians, Pipe

Fitters, Welders, and Labors. Worked Plant site through a 4 month Union

strike, 12 hours/day, 7 days/week. I supervised the Plant’s Carbon Plant

“Anode Crusher” Systems and the Maintenance Department “Anode”

Welding Shop. Once the strike was over, I was entrusted to represent the

Maintenance Department as part of the “Welcome Back and Healing

Committee” between the Company and the Union.
