Professional EXPERIENCE
Physiotherapist and Chiropractic Assistant
Batchelor Chiropractic Clinic, Boone, NC August 2013 – April 2014
• Cross-trained to both conduct physical therapy on patients and manage the front desk and insurance billing department.
• Performed physical therapy on patients at an integrative chiropractic clinic. Duties included conducting electrical
neuromuscular interferential stimulation, instructing and assisting in range of motion exercises, becoming trained and
certified to operate a Class IV therapeutic laser on injured patients, applying Kinesiotape to joints and muscles,
assisting with x-ray, and providing education to all patients in regards to all therapy I applied to them.
• Performed intake on patients which included collecting vitals and performing urinalysis.
• Issued, collected, and documented paperwork into an online database from new and updated patients, including
personal injury cases and workers compensation cases. Paperwork included Medicare ABN forms, chief complaint
forms, health histories, subjective analog maps, injury assessments, and various other documents needed for cases.
• Verified insurance eligibility and benefits for patients, both in-network through Health Network Solutions and out of
network.
• Ordered MRIs and doctor referrals for patients and called insurance companies to verify certification and conducting
prior reviews if needed.
Phlebotomist
Community Care Clinic, Boone, NC May 2012 – Winter 2013
• Volunteer weekly on a part-time basis at a health care clinic providing free services and serving those without health
insurance.
• Operated the laboratory. Duties included are drawing blood and other samples for tests ordered by physicians and
providers, performing in-house A1C, glucose, hemoglobin, INR, pregnancy, strep, urinalysis and microalbumin testing,
and preparing microscopic slides for microbiology testing. Duties also include ensuring specimens are properly
prepared for LabCorp pick-up by following their Directory of Services and Interpretive Guide.
• Devised and organized the lab by producing folders and posters that educate other volunteers on how to perform lab
procedures and tests.
• Assembled information for all patients with hypertension and diabetes for companies such as Blue Cross Blue Shield in
efforts to provide the clinic with more grant funds.

Walking and Wellness Program- Director and Instructor
Community Care Clinic, Boone, NC April 2013- September 2013
• Designed and executed a fitness and education program for a population that normally does not have access to fitness
facilities.
• Volunteer twice a week to teach a walking fitness class that emphasizes preventative medicine and healthy lifestyle
choices. A lot of participants are referred to the program from their provider due to their history with diabetes,
hypertension, cholesterol, and other diseases.

Diabetes Lunch and Learn- Assistant
Community Care Clinic, Boone, NC April 2013- September 2013
• Assist in a monthly education lunch that is provided to patients diagnosed or at high risk for diabetes.
• Duties include helping the RN who runs it prepare a meal, determine the nutrient contents of the meal to explain
portion control and healthy eating choices, and putting together educational information that serves as topics during the
lunch. Past topics include determining Body Mass Index, exploring whole grain vs. refined grains, and how sugars and
artificial sweeteners can affect the body.
• Patients that attend four lunches during the year are able to receive their lancets, test strips, and insulin needles at no
cost.
