Professional Experience
Admitting Manager, North Vista Hospital, North Las Vegas (June 2011 to Nov.
2011)
Supervised all check in procedures regarding the Admission/Registration process, triage screening,
interviewing and processing of patients, insurance and billing procedures. I also screened, trained, motivated
and evaluated 29 staff members. I was accountable for smooth functioning of: admission and treatment
eligibility, beneficiary travel, and emergency room patient processing. Notable accomplishment was the
development and implementation of a telephone triage program.
Admitting Manager, Valley Hospital – Las Vegas, NV (Feb. 2005 to June 2011)
In this 24 hour operation I was fully responsibility for insurance verification, all inpatient/outpatient
registrations, emergency room registrations, cashier, bed placement, customer service, and cash collections.
I managed insurance pre-authorizations for various procedures and hospital admissions. I administered the
budget for the admitting department, keeping expenditures within established parameters. I participated on
several interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, consultants, administrative management, etc) to improve
service and avoid duplication of efforts. I motivated and supervised 35 staff members and created employee
work schedules. I prepared employee job appraisals. Notable achievements include: Implementation of
Self Service Kiosk, Express Patient Check-In for all scheduled registrations both inpatient and
outpatient, Best Practices throughout the Universal Health Systems acute care hospitals. I
participated in several task force groups at the request of the corporate office. I was team leader on
two “Lean Six Sigma” teams that related to streamlined registration processes and reduced patient
wait times.
