Other Experiences
In the spring of 2013 I had the opportunity to do a stage with the Kanahwake Fire
Brigade. This stage gave me the opportunity to work in stressful environments and learn
how to channel my focus. Walking into a stressful environment and making sure that the
patient feels safe with you and feels confident in your abilities has had a tremendous
impact on my whole life. Having this experience has taught me to deal with my emotions
in a proper way and to have a new look on life.
Skills and Achievements
I am proficient with Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint, and am comfortable using
computers to perform tasks. I speak, read and write in English and French. My job at
Loblaws as well as Kanahwake Fire Brigade has also taught me good management skills,
often having to work out conflicting schedules or having to train new employees how to
perform the tasks which accompany the job. Having worked in the meat department, I am
capable of preparing any kind of meat, whether it be to prepare it into steaks or to prepare
a roast. I have gained much experience in preparing meat as well and ensuring a proper
rotation of stock to assure the best product for the customer.
Interests
Throughout my entire life, sports have always played an important role. Whether it be
soccer, hockey, football, rugby, golf, basketball or swimming, I have competed in all.
Hockey, soccer and golf are the three, which I practice and enjoy the most. Other interests
include science, which is what I am currently studying to one day become strength and
conditioning coach.
Goals
I am presently studying Sports Studies at Bishop’s University and upon graduation I hope
to continue my studies in Kinesiology. Having these two degrees will help me in my life
long goal of working as a strength and conditioning coach for NHL players. I believe
working at the very University that you are attending is a good opportunity to perfect the
skills that I would need in the future.
