To obtain a position with career opportunities utilizing my solid modeling skills,
Objective
ability to program very complex forms, reverse engineer and manage/maintain
large projects.
Experience
2006 (July) - (Present)
Hired as Program Manager, Design Engineer, CNC Programmer.
Promoted to Engineering Manager 01/01/12
Establish scheduling and timing for all Tool Room and Engineering Department jobs
and projects, reporting directly to the Plant Manger.
Tooling Design: Including thermoplastics, LSR, HCR, and FKM. Part removal systems
and secondary operation equipment.
Part Design: Medical devices, automotive parts, and reverse engineering of OEM part
construction. New Product Design and Development and customer design
optimization using Unigraphics. This includes document control with revision levels.
Insure rigorous problem solving techniques are used to resolve customer and internal
issues necessary to meet project timelines for completion.
Design fixtures and tooling with poke yokes to limit operator mistakes. Also, speaking
with operators regularly to see possible improvements that can be made with
existing systems in place.
Work with operations on the development of engineering solutions that will lead to
improve first time yields and operational efficiencies.
Identify and execute continuous improvement focused on customer satisfaction and
cost reduction.
Plan and participate in audits and assessments as required or needed (internal and
external).
Assure appropriate safety related procedures and standards are in place and being
practiced.
Programming CNC and Operations: Optimize utilization and output of 3 HAAS CNC
Milling machines and a CNC Laser. Also, the creation and programming of
electrodes when necessary using Unigraphics.
Quote new tooling and engineering projects.
Reverse engineer very complex assemblies and new product development. Some
assemblies requiring vibration welding, sonic welding, and other secondary
operations.
Developed mother base/ quick change system for changing in and out molds and dies
to limit mold cost and labor cost.
2001 (July) - 2006(July) –Belac LLC (Oldsmar, FL)
Tooling Manager & Design Engineer
Design and engineer ceramic molds and steel dies for aerospace products. Designs
were primarily solid models and are designed with Unigraphics. The designs are
very complex, geometrically tolerance, and can be up to thirty pages. The parts
that are being produced have very few if any flat surfaces on them.
My responsibilities include managing the Tooling Department and designing all new
gages and fixtures the shop requires. This includes designing electrodes for all tools
and dies in shop, making all CNC programs for both graphite and steel, and ordering
the materials necessary to complete the job. Also, setting up and running the
machines which includes a Bostomatic High Speed Mill and Cincinnati Mill. Some of
the parts I have made programs for are very complex, requiring up to five programs
and over a week of machining time to complete.
In the developmental stages of a part design I was required to use a variety of
measuring machines and instruments which includes the use of a Video Measuring
Machine (VMM), Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and also the use of
Imageware (software).
Another one of my responsibilities includes maintaining all part reworks. This
includes determining the proper type of rework, inspecting the part or tool after it is
reworked, and documenting the final outcome. The tools that are being reworked
and new tools being built can cost up to $200,000.00.
1998 (October) - 2001 (June – Company Closed) Reliance Precision Molds
(Security Plastics)
St. Petersburg, FL
Mold Designer & Engineer
Designed and engineered plastic injection molds utilizing Pro Engineer 2000i2.
Designs were primarily solid models (three dimensional) and often involved complex
assemblies for some of the world’s largest companies such as Motorola and TRW.
Design cycles ranged from one week to two months.
Created final manufacturing drawings using CAD Key, ME 10, Fast Surf, Draft Pack,
Mold Advisor, and Part Advisor.
Managed drawing revisions and change control. Responsibilities included updating
the drawings with changes from manufacturing and the redistribution of the revised
drawings.
Maintained the physical environment of the drawings. Duties included managing
server disk space, back-ups, and software updates.
1998 (Feb) - 1998 (October – Company Closed) Hytennas, Inc.
Largo, FL
Autocad Engineer
Managed all aspects of the CAD and drafting department
Created detail assembly procedures and drawings using Autocad 14 that replace
hand sketches or where previously documentation did not existed
Maintained and updated manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance with current
revision
Utilized Autocad’s solid modeling capabilities to assist in prototyping, engineering,
and design
Attended Team Management Training classes
Responsible for all drafting and CAD procedures, organization, and planning to
include software, hardware, and physical files
