CAREER OBJECTIVE
I am a biomedical scientist who recent graduate with three year laboratory
experience and combined studies with working and other commitments. In
achieving this, I have shown myself to be a self-motivated individual that
is dedicated and able to work with own initiative or as part of a team,
knowledgeable and determined to progress and develop. I possess excellent
verbal and written communication skills and am able to relate to a wide
range of people, as proven by my varied work experiences.

Practical skills gained during my degree
. Testing human samples such as blood, tissue, urine, cerebrospinal,
faecal material for enzymes, hormones and other constituents.
. Analysing cell cultures grown from tissue samples and identifying
blood groups.
. Working with computers, sophisticated automated machinery, microscopes
and other hi-tech laboratory equipment.
. Preparation and identification of nucleic acids, protein isolation and
separation by gel filtration, molecular modelling and computer
analysis of kinetic data. Use of a haemocytometer, microscopic
investigation, aseptic technique and bacterial isolation and
cultivation.
. Cell breakage, ELISA, immunoassays, spectroscopy, enzyme assays,
protein purification, gene cloning, gas chromatography, HPLC and
microscopy.
. Well versed in sterile microbiological techniques allowing for the
maintenance and growth of bacterial and yeast cell cultures, UV
mutagenesis, western blot analysis, agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS-
PAGE, DNA and RNA extraction and spectrophotometry. These were all key
skills I had to master for my final year project

. Personal Organisation and Time Management
Learnt the importance of prioritising competing demands at busy times by
setting myself achievable goals as well as to delegate organisation of
training rota to other members of the badminton team when I had academic
deadlines to meet.
Teamwork
I have successfully undertaken various team projects within both academic
and non-academic environments.
Communication
Oral communication skills expressed in presentations and in talking to the
general public. Writing skills developed with essay writing. I also was a
member of the editorial team for a school science newspaper.
As a sales adviser at BHS, I had to demonstrate knowledge of the different
types of items sold and their uses, to be able to respond effectively to
customer queries.
My degree course greatly enhanced my written and verbal communication
skills due to the many presentations, assignments, posters, essays and
projects required.
Willingness to learn
I am keen to develop my understanding and acquire new skills through
employment.
Problem solving
I have the ability to problem solve, tested with continuous problem solving
exercises given as assessments, which may require mathematical analysis and
evaluation.

Knowledge and experience of Windows 7, MS Word, MS Access, using email and

INTEREST AND LEISURE
Constantly evaluating, reflecting on constant changes occurring in the
fashion industry. Travelling and exploring different cultures, Egypt, Kenya
and Somalia. Reading book and magazines; such as Vogue, Look, Elle and
Glamour. Swimming, jogging and keeping fit.

Duties: Operating the till, Assisting Customers with purchases. Ensuring
the department is clean and tidy, giving a high quality of customer
service, organising the stock.
Call Centre- (Sale Adviser) Manchester 8thJanuary2011-14th November 2011
Duties: Providing advice, information assistance to callers, attempting to
resolve all enquires all enquires on first contact with the callers, making
sure that all telephone calls are answered properly, dealing with
customer's queries, requests, orders or complaints, involved in processing
orders, forms and applications.
