For this engineering survey firm, I am the Human Resources Administrative Assistant for a one-person
department. I handle payroll in-house for 55 employees through Vision software which involves setting
up ACH batches and Credit batches online and pay quarterly taxes. I create new hire packages, do
background checks and sign up new employees and perform E-Verify input. I do exit interviews for
terminations. I handle obtaining quotes for all company insurance and work with a third party
administrator. I maintain employee benefits such as medical, H.S.A., dental, vision, 401(k), and COBRA.
I place ads for recruiting in magazines, newspapers and on job boards and attend career fair. I update the
employee handbook and safety manual. I keep track of the OSHA log and schedule safety training. I
plan company events such as bowling parties, Halloween costume contest, Veterans Day Celebration, and
monthly birthday celebrations.
Texas Investors Title Oct 2009 to Jul 2012
For this title company, I was Bookkeeper/Office Manager. This company started in 2009 and I helped
launch the Accounting Department which involved a level of complexity by purchasing and installing
Quick Books software. I had to create the Chart of Accounts and set up general ledger. I also
implemented the filing system. I was responsible for A/P, A/R, and payroll through Insperity. I sent out
1099s and 1099-S forms at year end. I worked with outside auditors as required by law to tie to the penny
on all bank and escrow accounts. I typed minutes and agenda, and financials for the Executive Board
Members. I sent out documents after closings. I typed policies, made deposits, reconciled multiple
checking accounts in the millions, did statistical reports, auditing reports, and expense reports. I
supervised the receptionist.
Marsh & Associates Dec 2008 to Oct 2009, and part-time Presently
For this architectural firm, I was employed as bookkeeper/executive assistant. I handled A/P, A/R, billing,
and payroll through ADP. I used Excel to track consultant work and pay. I was responsible for tracking
continuing education hours and business license renewals. I opened the mail, replenished postage,
reconciled petty cash and other secretarial duties. Work was slow so I now go in once a month to enter
payroll and do any filing and data entry needed.
Hochstetler Masonry, Inc. May 2006 to Sept 2008
For this masonry company, I worked as office manager. I handled all functions of accounting. I had
contact with general contractors and vendors for accounts receivables using AIA documents and accounts
payable in QuickBooks. I did in-house payroll for Texas and Arizona employees. I supervised the part-
time receptionist. I was laid off due to their lack of funds and slow work load.
