Diesel Generator of 4900 kVA – 6,6 kV
General revision of the generator of the Hydraulic Turbine (Siemens 3900
kW – 6,6 kV air cooled, 700 rpm) during October/November 2009 ‘Stop’ of
the plant (General supervision by two specialists, one from AREVA and the
other from SIEMENS) .
General revision (ball bearings change and electrical testing) of induction
motor of the vapor system that low down the tritium content due to leakage
of it inside the reactor room (Siemens 12 kW – 0,4 kV)
General revision (ball bearings change and electrical testing) of induction
motor (Siemens 237 kW – 6,6 kV) of the oil-water refrigeration system of
the main step-up transformer
General revision (ball bearings change and electrical testing) of rotary
frequency converter that converts (Siemens 55 kW – 0,4 kV) the 50 Hz from
the power network into 250 Hz network that powers the blower motor of the
Reactor load machine
Implementation of the method RCM2 (Reliability Centered Maintenance 2)
with the Aladon Network license based on the book ‘Reliability Centered
Maintenance 2’ by John Moubray.
Rewinding inspection of the Reactor Auxiliary Refrigeration System induction
motor (Siemens 310 kW, 6,6 kV) at the Kolocsar workshop (technical
capacity to rewind motors and generators up to 25 MVA)
Collaboration on the general revision of the main generator (Siemens Turbo
generator 425 MVA-21 kV, hydrogen cooled) during the October/November
2009 ‘Stop’ of the plant. Main works: hydrogen seals change, rotor polish
and bearing rectification.
Supervision of the installation of the AREVA IED system for monitor power
transformers.
2
Supervision of repair works on the rotor of the hydraulic generator in the
MOTEC workshop (Machine data: Siemens, 3900 kVA, 6600 V, 342 A, 750
rpm)
Disassembly of the eight rotor poles and removal of the pole
o
windings.
Cleaning of the parts with dielectric solvent.
o
Drying in an oven with controlled temperature.
o
Impregnation in an autoclave without volatile solvent.
o
Control of the dielectric sheets to ground and replacement of the
o
ones which are deteriorated.
Assembly of the pole windings and the rotor poles and connections of
o
the windings.
Dielectric tests: resistance, insulation and surge test.
o
Atucha II:
General revision of all the induction motors of the Machine Room (bearings
change and electrical testing). Power range: 50 – 6000 kVA and voltage

Transener, Argentina (High Voltage Transmission Company that has 95%
of the Argentinean High Voltage System in 500 and 220 kV)
http://www.transener.com.ar
Job:
Substation Maintenance Engineer of the ‘Ezeiza’ 500 kV Substation (5000 MW of
power transmission and 2400 MW of power transformation (3 x 800 MW banks of
single-phase 500/220/13,2 kV transformers) and 6 x 125 MVA Synchronous
Compensators hydrogen cooled, the biggest substation in Argentinean Transmission
System)
Experience
MANTEC software operator (Maintenance Management Software). My work
relied on the adjustment of the Maintenance Inspection Sheets to the
Proceedings of the company.
3
Repair of the stator magnetic bore of the Synchronous Compensator number
2 due to a failure in January 2006. Description of the failure: Due to a failure
in a water pump the hydrogen overheated making one of the bolts of the
ventilation system take off, hitting the stator magnetic bores and causing
some damage to them.
Replacement of one the 800 MVA transformer banks in June of 2007.
Description: the replacement was made in two stages because the new
transformer bank was being made by ABB Brasil for November 2007. Then
we proceeded to modify the 500 kV substation to put in place two three-
phase transformer of 300 MVA each.
500 and 220 kV outdoor circuit breaker parameters measurement (BBC Air
Blast circuit breakers, Siemens SF6-Oil circuit breakers and ABB live tank
puffer SF6-Spring Stored Energy Mechanism).
