2008-2011 An investigation was conducted to determine the bactericidal

properties of antiseptic mouth rinses against three species

of bacteria found to be elevated in the saliva samples from

the subjects with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) :

Capnocytophaga gingivalis, Prevotella melaninogenica, and

Streptococcus mitis. In addition, the reason for the

presence of these particular cultures was examined as well.
