CMM is the filter through which products pass to ascertain whether they are of the quality required by the
customer. The function of an operator is vital in the manufacturing industry. The operator has many duties
to see that the product passes any certification test. They need to know how to program the three-
dimensional measuring machine to effectively measure different products. The product should then be
able to effectively pass any process inspection. The CMM operator/ Analyst has to prepare reports to
describe studies and prepare documents and layouts. New and better quality hardware and software are
being introduced every day and the operator has the daunting task of keeping abreast with the latest
technologies.
