T.W. Ponessa & Associates is an agency that promotes assessment, intervention and
rehabilitation to individuals in all phases of life facing mental health concerns. My
section of the agency concerns individuals displaying behavioral issues within the school
system. As a Therapuetic Staff Support, my duties include:
• Support individuals within the school and home setting.

Keystone Human Services is a non-profit organization specialized in providing care for
individuals with various forms of mental health problems. My particular branch houses 14-16
residents on average, where my duties regularly include:

Mission New Life is a partnering agency that work with individuals dealing with substance
abuse issues. As a student volunteer, I performed the following duties:
• Performed intakes with the assistance of certified employees

• Observed various group therapy sessions
• Researched various case plans of individuals
• Learned different therapeutic theories, including Motivational Interviewing

The AYAC was a committee that was created in order to establish peer mentoring as a way
to combat HIV and AIDS. As a member I performed duties, such as:
• Peer mentoring with students from rural and urban schools
• Went to trainings regarding sexual education and abstinence

• Met with different state legislatives regarding the health problem and remedies.
Intern Experience
United Way PA East 211, Lancaster,PA. August 2013- present.
211 is the information referral section location within the United Way organization. It serves as a
hub for six surrounding counties. Clients are directed to different resource sites through the 211
service.
• Research multiple resources through Vision Link Database.
• Document client issues and resolutions on database.
• Provide service via phone for clients within the six surrounding counties.
• Communicate with various departments located within the United Way Organization.
Project Access Lancaster County (PALCO),Lancaster, PA. February 2013- present.
PALCO is a program of the Lancaster County Medical Foundation. It serves to create a
coordinated health system for individuals who are uninsured in Lancaster County. PALCO
provides services donated by physicians and specialists.
• Conduct program evaluation of PALCO services
• Research service databases to increase awareness of needed services
• Collaborate with PALCO employees to better serve individuals
• Communicate with individuals receiving PALCO services
• Use databases within PALCO system to compare with other healthcare databases
Nonprofit Resource Network, BSW Intern, Lancaster, PA. December 2011-August 2012 .
Nonprofit Resource Network is an organization that helps and assists the majority of nonprofits
within Lancaster County. Through exclusive trainings and resources, NRN strives to make
nonprofits function better.
