ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Fundamentals of Computing Systems
Spring 2009
● Created a shared multi core simulator.
● Created a simulator to compare the performance of RANDOM, FCFS, and SCAN disk schedulers.
Both projects were accomplished in the C programming language.
2009 Software Engineering
● I worked with teammates to program a website manager for professors here at BU for a class
project. Primarily worked on the presentation of the site using HTML, CSS assisting with PHP as
needed.
2010 Introduction to Computer Graphics
● Animated a human hand and various animals using Java bindings for OpenGL. Required
mathematical understanding of dynamic lighting, ray tracing, texture mapping, polygon rendering
etc.
Cloud Computing Summer 2010
● Created a social bookmarking app using CouchDB, an open source document oriented database.
● Learned about and worked with Apache Hadoop, a software framework that supports data intensive
distributed applications under a free license. It enables applications to work with thousands of
nodes and petabytes of data. Hadoop was inspired by Google’s Mapreduce and Google File
System (GFS) papers.
● Learned about and briefly touched on Microsoft Azure, a Microsoft cloud platform used to build, host
and scale web applications through Microsoft data centers.
Data Mining Fall 2010
● Implemented a k means clustering in Matlab.
● Implemented a spam filter that was trained on a publicly available SpamAssasin data set.
Implemented using the Java programming language.

Google Map where each marker contains information from wikipedia as well as images from Flickr.

A Flask web app that takes your Youtube (http://www.youtube.com) data from Pinboard
(http://pinboard.in) and returns with an organized view of your bookmarked videos, playlists, and
channels. From there you can add a video to a playlist of your choice, copy a playlist, or subscribe
to a channel.
