Personal Statement
I am ambitious and conservative. My primary experience is in the packaging industry selling to all manufacturing
segments, where I have many excellent relationships. I seek the opportunity to use the relationships and management
skills I have developed over the last thirty years to help a team of sales representatives to meet sales goals, satisfy
customer’s needs and fulfill their own personal expectations. I sincerely hope to work for a company that values my
commitment to excellence. My hobbies include fly fishing, skiing and golf.
Work Experience
National Sales Manager – JEM Strapping Systems, Brantford Ontario CA (August 2013 to present)
Hired to develop a network of new distribution and direct accounts in the packaging industry for a line of high quality
steel strapping, as well as plastic strap, stretch film, edge board and related equipment. I am also responsible for hiring
and training 3 sales representatives in mid- 2014- early 2015. Responsibilities included calling on accounts nationally
with a focus on the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. Base Salary $95,000 plus a lucrative commission plan, car and
all expenses and benefits.
Regional Sales Manager - Polychem Corporation, Mentor Ohio (June 2000 - August
2013)
Regional Sales Manager in the packaging industry. Sales of plastic and steel strap, strapping equipment and engineered
systems through packaging distributors as well as to direct accounts in the New England region.
I managed four sales representatives and service technicians. Responsibilities included helping these representatives
exceed their sales targets as well as maintaining existing business. With my help each was able to exceed goals and one
of the sales representatives increased sales by $2,000,000 over a 3 year period. Main goals included growing the core
business of distribution, as well as direct accounts in the Corrugated, Can and Bottle, Automotive, Building, Steel and
Printing industries. I was also involved in the design of the Polychem catalog. Awards included salesman of the year
in 2000 and 2001. I was responsible for growing the business $4,000,000 over the first four years. When hired in 2000,
Polychem was forth in distribution, by 2003 Polychem was number one in distribution of plastic strap, their core
business. Several of their largest customers I developed in that three year period, including their single largest
distributor.
Base salary $92,000 plus commission, car and all expenses.
Sales Representative – Samuel Strapping Systems, Chicago Illinois (January 1998- June
2000)
The sales of plastic and steel strap, strapping equipment and engineered systems in a New England Territory that
included New York, Massachusetts and all of New England. My responsibilities included supporting packaging
distribution as well as developing large accounts in the Can and Bottle, Brick, Printing, Corrugated and Newspaper
industries. Additional products sold included stretch film. Base salary, commission, car and all expenses.
Sales Representative- Interlake Packaging, Hodgkin Illinois (January 1987- January
1998)
Sales representative involved in selling plastic and steel strap to packaging distributors as well as large direct accounts
including the corrugated, can and bottle, automotive and printing industries. My territory included New York State and
all of New England. Additional products sold were stitching machines, edge board and manipulators. Awards included
salesman of the year in 1987 and 1988.
