quality initiatives as part of a comprehensive strategy for turning around

this underperforming company with 80 employees at the Knoxville facility.

Oversee all aspects of quality assurance for the entire facility in a metal

forming and stamping environment and supervise a staff of quality

inspectors.

. Performed an initial analysis of existing quality procedures

that had not been updated since 1986 and completely rewrote/redeveloped

the quality manual into a comprehensive, 52 section manual covering

every aspect of quality throughout the entire facility as well as set

and control department budgeting.

. Created and implemented visual aids throughout the plant to

ensure compliance by all employees with quality assurance procedures as

well as wrote Job Instruction Sheets and Standard Operating Procedures

and Policy.

. Designed and established quality assurance check stations

throughout each phase of the manufacturing process to reduce the

potential for quality defects.

. Implemented new criteria for foreign material and established

tolerances to reduce defective products from being shipped to

Kaizen (Process Improvement):

and managed teams on 15 different projects.

. Trained and facilitated associates on the eight steps of Kaizen and

presented projects in local, national, and global competitions; won

. Developed and implemented processes that eliminated 500,000 pounds of

waste and saved $350,000 annually.

removed 1.5 million pounds of plant's CO2 emissions; project won Silver
