Medical Device Sterilization Supervisor
Job duties included but not limited to oversight of all plant sterilization
activities, on a twelve hour shift. Maintained a safe working environment
for employees, Scheduled job duties for all shift personnel, sterilized
medical devices according to customer specification and GMP’s.
Regulated by NRC, FDA, as well as DHEC, Utilized gamma radiation and
ethylene oxide to complete the sterilization process. Insured accurate
documentation, operated plant under LEAN and SIX Sigma operational
concepts, completed all employee safety training, worked closely with the
planning and validations team to insure protocols were followed.
Promoted continuous improvement ideas and Team work concept,
completed internal audits. Reviewed all work completed by operations
prior to customer release. Supervised the set up of customer validations,
supervised vessel re commissioning activities, Insured sterilization vessels
and irradiator were maintained as required by procedures. Trained
employees on various aspects of the sterilization process. Trained
employees on dosimeters and other aspects of the gamma sterilization
process. Operated plant safety program according to the STOP safety
program, maintained the respiratory protection program. Continued plant
improvement by utilizing the 5s program. Insured that customer protocols
and specification were followed. Completed facility internal audits as
required.

Nuclear Health Physics Technician (Health & Safety)
As a Nuclear Health Physics Technician my duties included but were not
limited to training of radiological workers, Supervising all radiological work
activities, ensured radiation detection instruments were functioning per a
very strict protocol, inspection and calibration of radiation detection
instruments, maintenance and repair of radiation detection
instrumentation, Utilizing GMP’s and environmental compliance
procedures, conducted contamination and radiological surveys on a daily
basis, Supervised the Packaging and shipping of radioactive equipment
utilizing 49 CFR, Maintained in plant breathing systems, air sampling
systems, water treatment facilities, Shipping and receiving of radioactive
equipment, conducted environmental soil sampling as well as waste water
sampling, Operated gamma spectrometer, implementation of radiation
work permits to include the writing and establishment of engineering
controls and decontamination work instructions, Assisted in the
decommissioning of a nuclear test reactor, assisted in the writing and
implementation of procedures and work instructions, radiation work
permits. Assisted with refueling, reactor head removal, reactor
decontamination, worked in all aspects of decontamination control.
Maintained the facility respiratory program which included fit testing,
decontamination of respirator, and recertification of respirators.
Supervised nuclear facility close–out activities for decommissioning
projects, Conducted pre and post decommissioning surveys, Final status
surveys and remediation, Established air flow testing protocols,
established decontamination and remediation standards, I worked with
highly radioactive materials on a daily basis. Ensured all work processes
were within the highest standards of the nuclear industry (NRC) (DEHC).
Also, as a Nuclear Health Physics Technician I have worked in many
capacities when required Over, the past 16 years in approximately 21
nuclear facilities across the united states. I have over twelve years of
direct supervision experience. I also maintained and obtained various
levels of nuclear clearances.
