Objective flying of Advanced Propulsion System
Professional Rocket Engine Mechanical and Fluid Systems
Achieveme • Design the fundamental fluid system architecture for a new Liquid Rocket
Engine currently in development
nts
• Design and building two rocket engine test stands including selection of
components system level design and fabrication and operations
• Select vendor, suppliers, and subcontractors for testing and components
selection for engine.
Training the Next Generation of Engine Development Professionals
• Trained and mentored entry level technicians and engineers in the
fabrication and understanding of testing hardware along with sub-system
engine development.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop integrated systems, including
the manufacturing of components and implementation of system design
and assembly.
• Developed the testing procedures for a brand new test program.
• Collaboratively developed the manufacturing and assembly programs used
to fabricate a new family of liquid rocket engines.
Designing and Building Rocket Engines
• Selected the materials based on research for the fabrication of rocket
engines
• Selected the key manufacturing methods along with the identification of
machines and processes in order to build the engines
• Collaborated with engineers to develop the design methods and
fundamental design and architecture of the engine including systems and
mechanical function
• Mentored and fostered the design of COTS inspired components such as
main valves, actuators, throttle valves, fluid clamps most being superior to
the original design.
• Researching new and advanced methods of production and fabrication
along with developing an understanding of traditional fabrication method
currently used.
Testing Rocket Engines
• Selecting the infrastructure and identifying the needs to build a professional
rocket engine test site.
• Contacting Vendors and suppliers to support the building and operation of
an engine development test site.
• Fabricating a fully integrated test site, including directing and leading
contractors, engineers, and technicians during construction. Including the
activation and continued operation of the test site without mishap. It
currently operates with a constantly evolving list of upgrades; supporting
more and more components and applications beyond the original design.
Among many achievements the test site stands as one of my proudest. It
is the safest and most versatile test site that I have ever seen. It continues
to be flexible and outstanding; having yet to find its limitation. Also it
stands as the most innovative test stand to my knowledge ever developed.
Inspiring and impressing even the most experienced engineering firms at it
approach and capabilities.
