Description: Real-time Gross Settlement System (CUD) for the Central Bank of Colombia: The CUD –
Deposit accounts system is the high value money transfer system of Colombia, managed and operated by
the Central Bank of Colombia, which provides the authorized Commercial/Financial entities the service
of money transfers among Deposit accounts on behalf of their clients or their own with the final objective
of settling obligations derived from transactions.
The system provides the financial institutions in Colombia with an efficient mechanism to make their
high value electronic transfers which operation is based on the highest international standards in
technology, telecommunications and security.
Basic technical specifications:
Support for up to 8K high-value money transfers per day, for a total of more than 20M USD in money
transfers with 0% money lost.
Ability to process 2K concurrent money transfers in average within 8s from 50 different banks with 99.99%
reliability, improving the current performance in 30%.
Capability to support up to 10 simultaneous web users to perform credit/debit transactions on the same
money account in less than 1s.
Data logging strategy required for security, audit and law compliance capturing up to 10K events per day.
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
Analysis and interpretation of functional and non-functional requirements for the system.
Co-design and implementation of the core component including transaction management and scheduling
of queued transactions.
Design and implementation of the “Fees” module of the system.
Implementation of several web forms in different modules of the system.
Active participation in the architecture, high and low level design of the system.
Co-design of the sensitive information management module.
