MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
I was head hunted by Vital Pet Products and asked to develop a new territory in East Anglia. I achieved this
with good results increasing the customers in that area from 10 to over 160 trading with us weekly, increasing
the turnover from £70,000 to 2 million pounds per annum.
At WFS Country Shop I increased the turnover from £300,000 to per annum to one million pounds over a five
year period through good buying and pricing practises, turning a failing business into a profitable one.
Owning a hotel in Devon was a much cherished dream, we increased turnover from £60,000 to £220,000 and
achieved a 3 Crown Tourist Board rating whilst there. We sold the hotel when our youngest child started
school as we found it did not fit in well with the demands of a young family.
I was the Deputy Manager at Watford Sainsbury’s when it first opened and this was the first Sainsbury’s store
to take 1 million pounds in the opening week, only trading 6 days a week then. After this I was promoted to
Store Manager at J Sainsbury’s and I was then the youngest manager on the company
