WORK EXPERIENCE
LIFE CARE CENTER OF MEDINA
PRN RN, Skilled Rehab Unit December 2013-March 2014
Have between 14-18 residents. Varying degrees of acuity, from trach care and corpacks, to IV antibiotics and extensive wound care. Many have PEG tubes. Some have PICC lines and central line which have to be monitored for signs of infection. Some residents have peritoneal dialysis. I am in charge of admissions and discharges, and am the liaison between MD and resident, CNP and resident, and MD, CNP, and family. Residents often come as soon as 1 day after surgery, so we are also a med/surg floor. Residents often have diabetes, and are brittle and noncompliant at times, so taking care of that takes up a great portion of my time. All charting, orders (including labs, scripts, dietary, PT/OT) is done on paper. Coming from other jobs that were computer only, I really learned a lot about the ins and outs of orders, transcribing, T.O., V.O., faxing, and creating new charts every month by hand. Unfortunately after I was finished with my full time position at Westlake there were no hours for me to transfer back to Medina.
LIFE CARE CENTER OF WESTLAKE
TEMPORARY FULL TIME RN, Skilled Rehab Unit February 2014-March 15, 2014
Have between 19-22 residents. Same duties as above.
MENORah Park
Charge Nurse, Float February 2013 – July, 2013
Charge nurse in various sub-acute, rehabilitation, and long term care units. Patient load ranges anywhere from 12-40. It was my job to administer all medications, take care of all wounds and dressings, and all head to toe assessments. Any respiratory care was my responsibility as well. In addition, I was direct supervisor to all STNAs and CTs on the units as well. I also was responsible for any admissions and discharges on the unit. I worked directly with all the doctors and took orders from them for the patients. I was the liaison between the families of the patients and any questions or concerns they had regarding their family members’ progress with the various services provided, (MDs, OT, PT), was directed to me, and in turn I directed it to the correct person or department, and made sure that it was answered in a timely fashion.
CLEVELAND CLINIC FOUNDATION
