Project: Client Reporting

This is a new system which will generate an entire set of new reports for

the wealthiest clients of the firm. I was responsible to create ETL's using

INFORMATICA for converting data from Source (INFORMIX DB) and load into

destination (SQL Server DB). Also, responsible for creating the Data Mart

Schema and creating stored procedures in INFORMIX and SQL SERVER.

Project: PMR (Portfolio Management System) Conversion to Web

This is a long term project wherein all Legacy programs written in Informix

4GL are being converted using JAVA 5 and J2EE with Informix Database as a

back end. This project was being done with the LB India team and I was the

key project contact for the India office for all technical and business

questions related to the conversion. The project is being managed by high-

level PM's and role is to report status of offshore and NY team with

updates to the project plan.

Project: PMR (Portfolio Management System) Enhancements and Maintenance

This is a key system which has over 80000 accounts and was a part of the 18

member team to work on the system with the business trying to improve the

system to get the best results. This PMR system is the main source of data

for all upstream applications as they feed data into PMR and for all

downstream applications. Key features of this system include: Transaction

Posting, Nightly Valuation, performance, roll of every account on the

system.

Project: LBAM Fixed Income PORTIA Conversion (NY/Chicago/London)

LB Asset Management was a Fixed Income program which brought over existing

clients data into the PMR system. The LBAM FI group is spread through the

Americas and Europe, primarily in London, UK and Chicago. The LBAM team

uses PORTIA as their primary trade system.

Role was to ensure a smooth transition of all clients' accounts into the

system with data being passed to all downstream systems correctly. Would

work with the technical and business teams in Europe and the Midwest during

the accounts transfer and create data models for transfer of data from a

SQL Server System into Informix. Custom data migration programs were

created to facilitate the migration.

Project: Conversion from Sequent to SUN

The PMR systems went through a major Hardware/Software upgrade wherein the

server Sequent was upgraded to a SUN Server running Informix 10.x from

Informix 7.x. Role was to check code for 32-bit to 64-bit conversion

errors. Work with the DBA team in migrating databases.

Testing the new system and sharing results with IBM for benchmarking. This

conversion was planned for about 6 months and went live in December 2006.

This has reduced the nightly processing time by about 4 hours easily

providing accounting information for LB Europe money managers for trading

in Europe at GMT.

file (in a very simple terminology). It also does a lot of maintenance

activities through a Web Interface, like maintenance of logs for mailed out

activity, changes to database for name/address.

Client: Bear Sterns Quarterly Statements Package for Ernst and Young

Clients

Complete study of database design, suggested changes to Bear Sterns for

ease of use on the print end. Coding involved, creating database, error

checking mechanisms on data, running print routines in ESQL 'C' which

include merging data from external source (XML parsed data as a text file)

and create a print/PDF file for printing and creating PDF's which are sent

back to Bear Sterns for archival purpose.

Client: Sony Music, Invoices and Credit Memos - Re-Design

This project is a redesign of the current application due to bugs in the

application. It consists of mailing out invoices and credit memos to

different customers while checking them with a database for special

conditions for print/assemble/mail. The current application had flaws (code

created somewhere in 1996) and could not be maintained anymore.

Client: Neuberger Berman LLC, Financial Statements

Financial Statements generated off a database using INFORMIX 4GL code,

ESQL/C code, some 'C' code, & VIPP (XEROX) software. The customer sends in

data which is loaded into a database & processed using 4GL code to generate

different client reports. Prints on a postscript printer. Also, convert all

the reports to Adobe PDF format & send it back to the customer to put it on

their website for immediate viewing. Database includes about 40 tables.

The whole process splits a large file into different files based on plans &

then compares it with which recipient gets which file & merges files only

for any particular recipient. This process is done on a daily basis (Mon to

Fri). The packages are then mailed to the respective recipients based on

their delivery method.
