PROJECTS
Major Qualifying Project, WPI, September-April 2012-2013, "Design of a DDR3 Memory Arbiter"
Targeted a Virtex-6 FPGA in Verilog. Interfaced with a memory controller and various other cores. Simulated the
design using a DDR3 memory model in Verilog. Implemented a soft-core Microblaze processor and programmed
it to send information to a PC using serial communication. Displayed arbiter actions on PC to validate on
hardware.
Advanced Digital System Design with FPGAs Course, WPI, August-October 2012
Interfaced with VGA port on a Nexys 3 Board by describing a simple driver in Verilog on the Spartan-3E FPGA.
Electrical and Computer Engineering Design Course, WPI, March-May 2011
Built sound level detection safety device. Researched appropriate microcontrollers. Programmed MSP430
microcontroller in C to control system output and process incoming microphone signal. Conducted market
analysis to gauge feasibility of product. Documentation: laboratory notebook and reports detailing device design.
EXPERIENCE
Senior Tutor, WPI, 2011-2013:
Microelectronics II, Introduction to Digital Circuit Design, Sensors, Circuits and Systems : Held popular help
sessions for homework/lab assignments on operational amplifiers, sensor circuits and gate logic. Taught filter,
multi-vibrator, and logic design, as well as circuit theory. Led lab exercises where students built useful circuits
using op-amps and described logic applications in Verilog on an FPGA. Graded class assignments.
Embassy of the United States of America, Pretoria, South Africa:
Intern, Office of Defense Cooperation, May-June 2010: Created filing system using Microsoft Excel, managed
financial data, provided office support.
Intern, United States Agency for International Development, July-August 2009: Created electronic file system
for President's Emergency Program for AIDS Relief, provided office support.
