Profile
Have 40 years’ experience in engineering, project management, erection, in Sugar, boiler, coal
handling, synthetic yarn, PET, EPC power projects.
In all the projects execution I have lead the team from start to commissioning. I have been
involved in detailed engineering, project management, erection management in
various projects which involved technology from UK, USA, Germany and have dealt
various machinery suppliers from India as well as abroad. I have also visited China,
Germany, France, USA for project related activities.
Having successfully lead various projects with so many diverse personalities I am confident of
taking any lead role in project. I have also developed teams in executing these tasks.
I am basically a cool headed person, taking challenges in my stride, love to work in teams, serious
in executing tasks, love to work smart and hard, like to go deep in the subject and
learn which enhance my confidence.
Parallely I have interest in indian classical music and love spiritual reading material.
I am at my best when assigned challenging task.

Responsible for fabrication of oil fired boilers, paint booth.
1974 to 1976
Jr Engineer Durgapur Steel Plant (SAIL)
Worked in blast furnace capital repair in the team
1976 to 1984
Asst Design engineer- Sr Design engineer MECON (Metallurgical and engineering consultants
India)
Worked in detailed engineering for coke oven battery, TiO2 Pigment project.
Further was posted at site for construction supervision for Ilmenite beneficiation and acid
regeneration unit. Was responsible for complete erection of all equipment viz kiln,
spray roaster, piping, pumps, heat exchangers, conveyors etc and commissioning.
Monitoring contractor. Team of 6 engineers assisted me.
1984 to 1987
Construction Manager Century Enka Ltd
Responsible for complete construction of batch polycondensation units, DMT unit, Polyester and
nylon yarn machines installation. Team of 6 engineers worked under me. Plant
involved civil building alongwith operating plant, major equipment viz reactors,
extruders, spinning, winding machines imported from Germany/Japan, considerable
cs/ss piping. Major expansion projects were executed by me as construction
manager. Yarn machines being high speed needed critical allignments. All projects
were successfully commissioned and in operation smoothly.
1987 to 1993
Sr executive erection Thyssenkrupp Industries I P Ltd
Was coordinating erection for coal handling, sugar projects. Contractor finalization, site
coordination, client coordination, commissioning was my role. Executed following
project erection
Coal handling plant for Kothagudam power station
Coal handing for Vijaywada thermal power station
Coal handling for NTPC power plant
2500 TCD complete sugar plant for Kailas sugar.
Coal handling covered structural fabrication of 3000t at site and equipments covered conveyors,
gallerys, crusher house etc
Kailas sugar covered milling, bagasse fired boiler and boiling house.
Erection period was 15 months for coal handling and 12 months for sugar.
1993-1996
Sr Manager Pearl Engg Polymers Ltd
Was responsible for site civil and erection of PET project from grassroot stage. Plant is civil
building of 40 mr height and equiments covered fans, pumps, oil fired boiler, reactors,
extruders, other machinery, pneumatic conveying etc. After plant as commissioned
was responsible for maintenance. Team of 12 engineers worked with me.
1996-2002
Sr Manager- sr General Manager Sugar Division. Thyssenkrupp Industries P Ltd
Sugar projects from 800 TCD to 2500TCD were executed by me as lead. This covered milling
plant, bagasse fired boiler, Turbine (in cogen plants), boiling house (comprising
structure, pans, evapourators, centrifugals, elevators, bagging etc.Work contained
variety of equipment assembly and erection and piping. Assembly of mills were from
knocked down stage. Coordinating with site contractor, monitoring, liaisoning with civil
contractor, client, billing was my role. At each site 6-10 engineers assisted me. Peak
labour was 200 at each site. I used to handle 3-4 projects at a time. Following sugar
projects were installed and commissioned under my lead.

2002-2011
Senior General Manager(project) Thyssenkrupp Industries I
With team I was project manager for following projects
3x155TPH cfbc boiler 3 units at Hindalco
2x120tph cfbc boiler at Nirma
2x25MW EPC power project for Ultratech
2x75MW BTG power project for ANRAK
3x350TPH cfbc boilers for Bhushan steel
2x50 MW EPC power plant for India Cement
In all these projects I lead right from initial stage to commissioning and operation stage and was
responsible to coordinate with client on all technical and commercial matters, deal
with client/consultant in detailed engineering stage, procurement of raw
material/BOHT equipments, site erection etc. I was the single point contact with client.
Except Anrak and Bhushan all projects are in operation at present and Anrak and
Bhushan are in advance stage of completion. EPC power projects comprised of cfbc
boiler, turbine, esp, fans, water treatment, coal handling, electricals, instrumentation,
DCS etc.
Team of 20 engineers assisted me in execution and each site covered 3000t structural fabrication.
Boilers building was 54mr tall. Erection required 100t crawler mounted cranes and
covered IBR piping and assembly of pressure parts.
2011 -2013
Asst Vice President BGR Energy Ltd
I was project manager for 660 MW super critical boiler project with Hitachi as partner. Team of 12
engineers assisted me. I was responsible for complete project management from
engineering stage. Interaction with Hitachi, NTPC was my role as a project manager.
Project is 25% complete stage. I have lead project exection and interacted with
NTPC, Hitachi, suppliers right from start.
2013 August onwards
Presently I am a freelancer assisting erection contractors in bid submission, planning, marketing.
With my experience I am looking for challenging project management/ construction
supervision assignments.
I am settled in Pune and my children are settled in Hyderabad and USA. Self and my wife are free
of all parental obligations are freely living and enjoying life. Having travelled in India
and abroad I enjoy changes in life.
