Summary
I am an Experienced Mechanical Operator and Work Manager. Following 21
years of naval service, I have and plan to continue to put my experience
and training to use in the work management and maintenance fields. I have
spent 4 years as a mechanical maintenance planner at a civilian nuclear
plant since retiring from the Navy. Since joining the Navy I have
accumulated over 16 years of supervisory experience in various
organizations. I was qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor for 14 years
on three different reactors.
I have vast experience in the development and implementation of the
planning and management required to complete demanding maintenance periods
with limited resources. I have extensive technical experience in working
with reactor plants, steam turbines, turbine generators, main engines,
reduction gears, lube oil systems, high-pressure air systems, hydraulic
systems, valves, bearings. I am highly experienced in the area of Quality
Assurance and Technical Work Package development for the nuclear repair
process.
Proficient in MicroSoft Office products, PassPort, Asset Suites, eSoms and
familiar with P3/P6.

Experience
2011-2013: Initial Senior Reactor Operator Licensing training. Prior to
starting classes, I spent six months performing duties as mechanical
maintenance outage coordinator liaison during the largest uprate
maintenance project in the country, and often successfully filling in for
the mechanical superintendent when he was unable. I trained the person who
is currently holding the position of online Mechanical Maintenance
Coordinator at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.
2007-2011: Mechanical maintenance planner at Prairie Island nuclear
generating plant, specializing in turbine planning and overhead crane
planning. My drive to do the best that I can, regardless of hurdles
resulted in being selected as a Lead Planner a nomination for union steward
after only two years in the department.
. Well versed in Passport, Visio and Microsoft Office software and a
familiarity with Primavera.
. Chosen to represent the site as a member of the EPRI planning users
group.
2005 -2007: Divisional Manager serving as Machinery Division Leading
Chief Petty Officer aboard USS BOISE (SSN-764).
. As Engineering Watch Supervisor directly supervised up to 11 personnel
of various trades in the safe and reliable operation of the reactor
and steam plant under all operational and shutdown conditions
including three Operational Reactor Safeguards Examinations.
. Efficiently planned and coordinated several complex and highly
demanding maintenance periods improving the plant's readiness and
reliability enabling the ship to meet all operational commitments.
2003-2005: Senior Advisor for Quality Assurance Program as member of Naval
Submarine Support Command, Pearl Harbor, HI
. Managed and directed all aspects of Submarine Quality Maintenance and
Submarine Safety Certification for 16 fast attack submarines.
. Conducted training and highly detailed audits on all subordinate
organization's Quality Maintenance and Submarine Safety Records on
regular basis to verify conformation to requirements and standards.
As a result, submarine readiness was increased by 30%.
1998-2003: Divisional Supervisor serving as Machinery Division Leading
Petty Officer aboard USS SEAWOLF (SSN-21).
. As Division Leading Petty Officer and Engineering Watch Supervisor was
responsible for the supervision of up to 15 personnel during all
operational conditions.
. As the Department Administrative Assistant, I was responsible for the
proper records and documentation for all aspects of nuclear power
plant operations including logs and training records.
. As Department Leading Quality Assurance Inspector, I demonstrated very
effective technical writing skills through the research and
development of numerous technical work packages, ensuring all nuclear
and steam plant work was completed with first-time quality and met all
required standards.
1995-1998: Shop Supervisor serving in Nuclear Repair Department at Naval
Submarine Support Squadron, New London, Connecticut.
. Organized and supervised 30 personnel in complex nuclear system
repairs including valve repairs, freeze seal operations and several
resin and filter media replacements.
. Oversaw the qualification and training of all 30+ members under my
supervision.
