Projects
1) "A Hybrid Coding Scheme Combining SPIHT and SOFM Based Vector
Quantization"
Description:
So far, a number of compression techniques have been developed; for
instance, transform image coding, predicative image coding, vector
quantization and more. Of these, the techniques based on transform coding
and Vector Quantization (VQ) have received a great deal of attention. In
this paper, I propose a hybrid scheme combining Kohonen's Self Organizing
Feature Map (SOFM) based Vector Quantization (VQ) coding and Set
Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) coding for effective compression
of images.
2) "Implementation of a MAC unit using Modified Booth Algorithm"
Description:
A project done in Verilog HDL in which a MAC unit has been
implemented using XILINX tool. MAC unit is the core of a DSP processor in
which the critical multiplication and accumulation operation is carried
out. Speed of the MAC unit was enhanced using the Booth's encoding
techniques.
3) "AMBA APB Design and Verification "
Description:
Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA) is an on-chip-
communication standard for designing high performance embedded
microcontrollers. Several distinct buses are defined within AMBA
specification including advance high performance bus (AHB), advance
peripheral bus (APB) .
A project on AMBA APB design and verification was done in verilog
HDL and simulated by using the cadance tool .
