Hybrid Driver/Warehouse

Responsible for covering for Drivers, Transportation Coordination (routing), Inventory Control, Quality

Control, Shipping and Receiving as well as assisting in Warehouse Management responsibilities, using 5S

Procedures. Train Employees for Hi-Lo & Equipment.

Duties include:

• Work with transportation carriers such as Fed Ex, UPS and LTL carriers

• Transportation duties include routing, following up to make sure deliveries have been

successfully completed. Scheduling Carriers for LTL Shipments, Completing Bill of Ladings and

Other Documentation needed for Shipments.

• Inventory Control duties include create and complete cycle counts, running inventory reports,

manage counts of inventory. Random product counts and investigate shortages/overages of

product.

• Customer Services (Face to Face customer interactions when making deliveries or assisting in

warehouse pick ups)

• Restructuring warehouse bin locations (Designing and putting together a better racking system to

enable more cost savings with fewer man hours and less room for error)

• Working closely with purchasing in determining shortages and communicating returns to vendors

• Assisting sales in special requests and advising of overstock or slow moving material.

Responsible for overseeing transportation, routing, shipping, receiving, quality control as well as

managing inventory control for multiple(6) warehouses for a $65M/year locally owned company.

Additionally, working with quality to ensure ISO9001 compliance as well as 5S standards and assist in

area where manpower was needed. Duties include:

• Organize and hold weekly review meeting to ensure objectives were communicated

• Work with training of new warehouse and driver personnel

• Assist in the implementation of a new warehouse computer conversion system

• Assisted in implementing a TMS time and attendance (Attendance Enterprise). Allowed us the

ability to monitor employee times to better control overtime expense as well as determine areas

for better time management.

• Work on weekly reporting (inventory numbers, vacations and warehouse productivity)

• Assisted in developing a recycling program for pallets and other materials to provide increased

profit for the company as well as financial incentives for the drivers.

• Hold drivers meetings to keep them up to date on new implementations, productivity

improvements as well as covering suggestions from drivers. Maintain/Monitor Drivers Logs to

make sure they are DOT Compliant. Keep up with Haz-Mat Regulations. Scheduling of Drivers

for Route coverage.

• Review hours and make schedule changes as needed for drivers and warehouse to reduce

overtime

• Worked directly with Quality Control on inspections and defects to ensure customer expectations

were met
