Research Experience:

During my research career I have been involved in various research projects which include:

August 2003- March 2004: (8 Months)

Involved in Department of Biotechnology (DBT), funded project “Tissue culture studies in

tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum)” from Government of India to Kakatiya University where I

got expertise in various plant tissue culture techniques.

October 2006- March 2007: (6 Months)

Masters thesis in Shantha Biotechniques (SANOFI) titled “Cloning of the 5’ portion of 342 bp

of the Alcohol Oxidase gene of Shantha4 in E. coli”. My tasks included construction and

analysis of recombinant molecules, where I got expertise in various molecular biology

techniques.

University Giessen. My tasks included analysis of LCA genes specially Cloning and recombinant

protein expression studies.

October 2009 – Febraury 2014: (4 years 5 months)

Since October 2009 working as a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Markus Preising, my

PhD thesis “Expression patterns of AIPL1 Splice variants in relation to Centromere protein

F” deals with functional studies of genetic disorders related to the retina. The main focus of

project is identifying novel interaction partners of Aryl hydrocarbon interacting protein like 1

(AIPL1) and the role of interaction in LCA (Lebers Congenital Amaurosis) which falls under

the cluster of EOSRD (Early Onset of Severe Retinal Dystrophy). Practical aspects of my project

include Molecular Cloning, heterologous expression, Animal cell culture, protein purification

assays and interaction studies.
