July 05 to Present Maintenance Manager/Facilities Project Manager – IAC Group
North America
Responsible for directing all activities pertaining to the maintenance
of a large Injection Molding, Acoustics, and Compounding facility.
Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment, and Facility.
Responsible for setting work schedules, planning projects, and
purchasing equipment for 40 skilled trades employees in a union
environment. Also responsible for setting schedules for 3
Maintenance Supervisors.
In 2012, I was asked to take on the roll as corporate Project Manager
reporting to the division VP. When the Huron plant was awarded the
CD4.1 Ford Fusion program, I was assigned to the program to
facilitate the upgrade of the Facility and the installation of all new
equipment. After a successful launch, I once again took over as the
Maintenance/Facilities Manager.
1988 to 2005 Maintenance Manager/MRO Buyer - Collins & Aikman Corp.
Direct Report Manager
Responsible for directing all activities pertaining to the maintenance
of a large Injection Molding production facility which included all
equipment, and facility. Responsible for setting work schedules for
50 skilled trades employees in a union environment. Also
responsible for setting schedules for 3 Maintenance Supervisors and
2 Engineers. In 1996, I also took on the responsibility of plant MRO
Buyer. I reported directly to the Plant Manager as a staff manager.
I have been responsible for and have experience in the following:
Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance
Responsible for scheduling and directing the day to activities of
•
the production machine maintenance department
Responsible for project direction pertaining to machine and
•
manufacturing system upgrades.
Responsible for tracking equipment downtime and implementing
•
corrective actions.
Responsible for writing and maintaining all Manufacturing
•
Equipment Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.
Responsible for specifying, purchasing, and following all new
•
plant manufacturing equipment
Responsible for specifying, and tracking all equipment spare
•
parts.
Responsible for maintaining the plant work order system
•
Facility Maintenance
Sourcing and directing exterior and interior building
•
maintenance and repair utilizing internal staff members as well
as outside purchased services.
Sourcing and directing all new interior and exterior building
•
projects.
Responsible for obtaining permits for all building projects. This
•
includes meeting with city government officials for approvals.
Monitor and maintain building systems including the interior
•
and exterior key system, the card access entry system, the
building security system, and the Security Guard service.
Other Duties & Accomplishments
In 1998, the Collins & Aikman plant started the process of
•
changing from a headliner plant to an injection molding plant. I
specified and purchased $26 million dollars worth of equipment
and facility upgrades. All installations and launches were on
time.
I wrote all of the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
•
procedures for the facility as well as all plant production
equipment.
I have written all QS9000 and TS16949 procedures pertaining to
•
Facilities, Maintenance, and Purchasing.
Very proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and
•
PowerPoint.
Note: Collins & Aikman is the third company that I worked for in
the same building. The original company was Vandresser Corp. In
1992 Textron Inc. bought the company as part of their automotive
group. In 2000, Collins & Aikman purchased Textron Automotive
from Textron Inc.
1986 to 1988 Hydraulic Pipefitter Supervisor - Control Technique Inc. Plymouth
MI. A large company specializing in the building and installation of
machine tool automation. My duties were the installation and
supervising the installation of all hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant and
lubrication systems. My duties also included ordering all
components. Layout of all jobs, quoting jobs, and the supervision of
all field crews.
1979 to 1986 Journeyman Hydraulic Pipe fitter - Tri-way Control Systems Inc.,
Dearborn MI. The company specialized in building and installation
of machine tool automation. My duties were the installation of all
hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant and lubrication systems. In 1986, I
was promoted to crew leader.
Education Bachelor of Science in Management, with a minor in
