Medical Mental Health

Worked for the University of Texas in a Texas Prison in San Antonio. University has a contract to provide health care to prison inmates. I was in charge of the Medical Records Dept. which entailed, faxing, scanning, emailing, phone calls, setting up medical provider daily appts to see inmates, also for x-ray, dental, mental health and nursing staff. Was in charge of our Digital Medical System, setting appointments with Hospital Galveston so certain inmates could be seen via web cam with doctors from there, and then if decided they needed additional care, setting up travel arrangements to have them seen in John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Also was computer IT back up for our unit.

Handled on a daily basis, anything that would come up, hard to explain, each day was totally different from day before, I had my regular job duties but things would happen and would have to help different departments.

In charge of monthly reports sent to Galveston.

I have worked in all medical departments: Administration, Nursing, Mental Health, Dental, X-ray, Lab and Medical Records.
