• Expressed and purified wild-type and mutated β-Lactamase AmpC enzymes using IPTG

induction, alkaline lysis, affinity chromatography, and ion-exchange chromatography

• Used CENTA and Bradford assays to determine purification efficiency and enzyme

activity of both uninhibited AmpC and enzyme inhibited with cefotaxime

• Compared kinetic activity between wild-type and mutant enzyme

Glycine Max Gene Expression

• Selected a clone from a Glycine max leaf cDNA library in a λ-phage vector

• Amplified and isolated DNA for sequencing

• Designed a gene expression experiment based on sequencing results

• Obtained RNA harvested from experimental soybean plants
