Resume:

Objective

To obtain an internship where I can apply the engineering skills and experience gained through my education and hands-on applications

as well as gain new expertise in the field.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Minor: Manufacturing

New Mexico State University, graduation date of May 2014 with a cumulative GPA of 3.0

• Hands-on experience with manufacturing and design process

• Collaboration with faculty and peers as well as various student organizations

• Lead school-related projects, including the development of a manufacturing process for Driscoll’s packaging, as well as the

development of nuclear filter testing procedures for NMSU’s engineering department

Experience

Laboratory Aide for NMSU’s IEE Algal Biofuel Project (July 2013 to February 2013);

For my most recent position, I used the research methods necessary for collecting oil from algae in order to someday help invent a

petroleum equivalent biofuel that matches the production/cost expenses of fossil fuels. Responsibilities in this position included:

• Self-directing of time management and scheduling

• Machining and building the plastic based containers

• Testing the phosphate, nitrate, and pH level contents in the algae based media

Laboratory Test Assistant for NMSU’s Engineering Departments Filter Testing [Internship] (June 2013 to

September 2013);

Responsibilities in this internship included:

• Handling, setting, and testing each filter, assuring that each would be successfully tested with little to no error

• Profiling each filter determining if they meet, or even set, the various standards for its level and grade

• Machining custom parts in order to properly post testing equipment on filters

• Managing fellow employees, schedules and deadlines

• The results of my work was the completion of a test 35 years in the making, finishing the final filter testing within the allowed

amount of time (summer of 2013) despite the various set-backs and mishaps which included a growing list of deadlines and a

late start.

Paddle Coach for NMSU’s Concrete Canoe Team (Fall 2012 to Spring 2013);

Completely revamped the practice routine by changing its methodology, which included:

• Doubling practice frequency, while making the needs and commitments for members come first in scheduling

• Creating custom work out routines based on each paddler’s capabilities, helping each member achieve their maximum level of

output in key muscle groups

• Creating an overall better sense of teamwork and unity among the team

• The results of my coaching included:

o

o First in the regional men’s endurance, women’s endurance, and co-ed sprint races (all of which included first year

paddlers)

o Taking second in men’s sprint and third in women’s endurance

o Team qualification to race in the 2014 national’s competition

Project Packaging System Designer for M-TEC’s Strawberry Plant Processing for Driscoll’s (Spring 2013) ;

In the project, led by M-TEC, my team and I designed, prototyped, and tested new process packaging machines/mechanisms (with

myself acting as lead designer for the packaging portion) giving me experience in:

• Incorporating the teamwork, coordination, communication, and cooperation for developing an innovation

• Creating solid-works models that was both designed and required

• Prototyping and testing the concept of design

• The result of my design and my teams prototyping included:

o The project being pitched to Driscoll’s themselves for feedback and final design considerations

o My idea yielding particularly positive feedback from representatives after witnessing prototype footage

Skills

• Computer, Computer Software and Technical skills including: Minitab, Sigma Plot, LabView, Java, Microsoft Office, Trimble

Sketch-Up and

o Solid-Works/CAD, having proficiency with all the programs tools, including: drawing, modeling, designing, analysis,

optimization, and simulation

• Written and Verbal communication skills such as scheduling, organizing, and coordinating group meetings as well as

maintaining an open line of communication among the group

• Hard working and self-driven; taking great pride in fully completing projects and doing quality work gained through years of

working manual labor jobs
