Description: I worked in Bloomfield Hospital a service of Bloomfield Health Services, mental health

provider with 114 inpatient beds, registered as an approved centre with the Mental Health

Commission. It specialises in the provision of mental health treatment and care to Older Persons

(Psychiatry of Old Age) and Adults providing services for persons with Serious and Enduring

Mental Health disorders, and complex Mental Health issues associated with Neuropsychiatric

Disorders and Dementia. During my time in Bloomfield i have worked in the following areas

37 bed locked psycho geriatric ward, specialising in care for those with dementia and serious and enduring

mental health needs.

24 bed locked mental health ward, specialising in care for those with more acute mental health needs

including neurological disorders e.g.: Huntington's disease

22 bed locked mental health ward specialising in care deliverance within a recovery model ethos.

36 bed HIQA registered nursing home

Duties:

Reporting to CNM2 on duty & staff nurses

Implementing care plans under the guidance and support of staff nurses as per mental health commission

& HIQA standards

Promoting quality care by maintaining patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality, adhering to local and

national policy in every day practice
