School Counseling Intern:

Danville High School, Danville PA. August- December 2013

-During my practicum experience at the high school level I was able to effectively establish rapport between

students, staff, administration, and parents. My main responsibilities as an intern included individual

counseling/group counseling, attend IEP (Individualized Educational Planning) meetings and 504 planning

meetings, class programs and presentations to students, family counseling (collaboration with counselor), crisis

intervention planning, developing drug and alcohol programs, assessment and report writing, SAT and ACT

testing, lunch duty, monitoring, and orientation for incoming freshmen.

Danville Middle School, Danville PA. August- December 2013

-During my time at the middle school I was able to establish rapport effectively within the school setting between

students, teachers, and staff. I was able to run groups for girls and boys on a variety of issues, I was able to be a

part of group and individual counseling, informal observation (lunch duty, hall monitor, and orientation),

staff/faculty consultation, assessments and testing, and I was able to help plan programs for fundraisers and

banquets, along with experiencing individual and group supervision.

Liberty Valley Intermediate School, Danville, PA. January- May 2014

-In the spring of 2014 I attended Liberty Valley Intermediate School for the portion of my elementary hours with a

K-12 certified counselor that allowed me to participate within a variety of activities, tasks, and exercises with the

elementary-aged children. Some of the tasks and exercises that I have been trained to do at this school included;

bus duty, lunch duty, individual counseling, parent meetings, teacher consultation, PSSA (Pennsylvania System of

School Assessment) administration and testing, and IEP/504 planning and meetings.

North Schuylkill Elementary School, Ashland, PA. March- May 2014

-In spring of 2014 I attended North Schuylkill Elementary School for the remaining portion of my elementary

hours to become officially certified within K-12 school counseling. My responsibilities at NSES were to provide

individual and group counseling to students, meet with teachers and staff, observe IEP/504 meetings, SAP

(Student Assistant Programs) meetings, lunch duty, bus duty, help with parent/teacher nights, develop and

implement guidance lessons, and PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) administration and testing.
