PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
University of Pittsburgh 2013-2014
Directed Research
Conducted research and analyzed Ras ERK1/2 activated pathway, up-regulation and down-regulation post
infarction 2 days, 7 days and 2 weeks as fast biomarker in detecting heart diseases.
• Isolated and cultured adult myocytes and fibroblast from mouse cardiac tissue
• Isolated DNA and protein from the cultured cells and amplified the isolated DNA by conducting taq
polymerase (PCR) sequencing
• Conducted isoelectric focusing (IEP) to isolated low molecular weight G (Ras) proteins
• Performed protein assay by complexing coomassie dye with polypeptides reactive centers
• Performed competitive ELISA test to quantitatively determine the presence of Ras protein
• Evaluated the expression of Ras ERK1/2 activated pathway by electroporation of 32P-labeling of Ras
activity using flow cytometry method
• Controlled protein expression using Tetracycline regulatory systems and luciferase enzyme
• Researched literature articles and presented my research to the University of Pittsburgh, Department of
Biological Science
Bradford Community Health Center – Bradford, PA Summer 2013
Internship – Office Assistant
Examined the physical, social and psychological constraints of healthcare services and accessibility in the
Bradford community and implemented fundamental projects.
• Conducted medical survey on current challenges that Bradford rural community faces accessing
healthcare services
• Assisted with developing networking strategies with local organization in McKean County
• Researched available grants and wrote two grant proposal
• Careful documentation of projects, patients and observations
• Enhanced the efficiency of the clinic by adapting an electronic filing system of storing patient information
• Performed patient vitals
