PRUDENTIAL FINANCIAL, Newark, NJ 2001 to 2013
VP, Digital Content Technology Systems (2012 to 2013)
Accountable for system architecture design and development of highly available and scalable digital content technology,
comprised of Vignette/OpenText Web Content Management, Aprimo Marketing Resource Management, Google Search
Appliance, and Offline Explorer archive systems. Managed 17 domestic/offshore technology professionals supporting 6
lines of business, 55 mobile optimized intranet/internet websites within an n-tier Java/WebSphere and Portal framework.
Maintained critical vendor relationships, influenced product direction, and exploited functionality. Reported to the
CIO/VP Information Systems.
• Spearheaded a 2-year initiative designed to upgrade the Content Management System; data structure redesign and
data migration, quality testing for all tiers, adoption by 6 business units, and final launch. Supported all legacy code,
servers, storage and software, with little or no impact on the daily activities of business partners.
• Led all content management and delivery, website search, marketing resource management, archiving, and front-end
initiatives with an emphasis on quality systems development and timely delivery. Led a 3-year, $3 million project
working with 7 system teams to consolidate and redesign the highly-regulated Prudential Investment Portal websites.
• Developed a 24x7 system support initiative with the CIO that increased the amount of leverage for off-shore Java
and MRM developers. Effort resulted in the development of true off-shore subject-matter experts and high-
performance leaders for the first time in department history, and saved 40% ($672,000) due to salary differentials.
• Led enterprise initiatives evaluating Web Content Management, Marketing Resource Management, and Digital Asset
Management; completing market scans, 100 client interviews, and Requests for Proposals within a 1-month period
versus the standard of 6 months. Initiatives are currently on target for implementation by the end of CY2013.
• Re-engineered the system infrastructure and deployment process, improving system availability from 95% to 99.9%,
and supported capacity, performance and security SLAs while remaining within the $2.5 million budget.
• Planned, coordinated and executed quality control on new software releases for in-house and cloud based
applications prior to client delivery, reducing potential implementation risk and improving client satisfaction.
Director, Web Content Management Systems (2010 to 2012)
Served as a technical leader and application owner for Prudential’s standard Content Management and Delivery
Platforms. Provided the vision and direction for developing the corporate infrastructure and its applications, and ensured
designs could be integrated with Prudential’s standard IBM WebSphere Portal. Led 11 domestic and offshore developers
with a $1+ million annual infrastructure budget. Reported to the Vice President, Information Systems.

• Identified a need, negotiated costs, and formed a 2-person offshore infrastructure team, replacing the existing in-
house e-Commerce role and cutting support costs 40% ($55,000) for the version 8 Content Management System.
• Slashed time-to-market up to 50% by employing fast-cycle methodologies and focusing on the product delivery
value chain, thereby allowing system initiation requests to meet required weekly releases and SLA commitments.
• Member of Prudential’s Open Source Committee responsible for ensuring best coding practices among all eBusiness
development system platforms. Employed the Palamida scanning tool across the entire U.S. enterprise.
Consulting Manager Systems, Content Delivery Application (2006 to 2010)
Application owner for the Websphere-based content delivery application. Provided comprehensive consultation to 6
business units across the organization, IT management, and high-level IT engineers on all 5 phases of the software
development life-cycle processes. Maintained and published metrics. Reported to the Director of Information Systems.
• Created a standardized RAD environment for code development and established packaging guidelines, allowing for
cleaner application code and reducing the time required to set-up a development environment by 4 days.
• Analyzed the performance of the Java programming code, leveraging both SQL trace and WILY. Replaced classes
of inefficient logic along with database table schema and stored procedures, slashing processing time by a full 33%.
• Expanded content-delivery application capabilities by supporting the display of dynamic data via web-service call
with static data served from Dynacache, thereby creating opportunities for the eBusiness Development Group.

Member of the 7-person content management team responsible for developing the Java/J2EE applications and utilizing
