Project: "Adaptive Controller based Three Element Drum Level Control" at
MTPS, Mettur. - In thermal power plant, boiler is the heart of the system,
boiler helps in transferring the heat from combusting fossil fuel to boiler
feed water, in the boiler drum the feed water and steam is separated and
the steam is feed in to super heater which then turns the turbine to
generate electricity. In Mettur Thermal Power Plant three element boiler
drum control system is employed in which PID controller is used and the
tuning of controllers parameter is done manually.
In the proposed method PID controller is replaced by adaptive
controller where the tuning of controller is done automatically. Thus it
helps in improving the precise control of steam and water level in the
boiler drum and increases the performance of the boiler drum level control
system which increases the overall reliability of the boiler.The project
involves two phase of development which is carried under simulation
environment using MATLAB.

Project: "Controlling and Monitoring of Plant wastage" at SAKTHI SUGAR
PLANT, Erode. The project aims at monitoring the PH, temperature, Pressure
and CO levels in the condensed effluent water from steam boiled sugarcane
unit, such that if any of the parameters are measured above pre-set
standards then wrong occurrence text is sent to control room by GSM
technology. The main aim of the system is to maintain low waste disposal to
the environmental. Project is advanced by monitoring those parameters
through LabVIEW.
