Project Experiences

Client: Pacific Gas & Electric, USA

Dates: May 2013 to till date

Position: Technical Architect

Key contributions:

• Designed a wrapper program to automate the DPPM (custom inspection metrics report) report as per the

clients needs. The wrapper program launches the DPPM report multiple times in parallel mode, extracts

results from each job and collates them. Lastly it prepares a formatted mutli sheet excel with the required

statistics and emails it to the users.

• Designed transactions for QSL Audit Management. PGE frequently audits manufacturer locations that

supplies materials to them. The location data and audit information were managed using excels. The QSL

Audit project replaces this by providing transactions for managing location data (create, change, update &

upload) and managing Audit data. Multiple audits can be created for a single location and the user can

navigate between audits within the transaction. User can maintain comments, attach documents, create

MPRs (notifications), view linked MPRs and location data within the audit transaction.

• Designed workflow for MPR (Quality Notification) task reassignment. The workflow routes the task added to

the notification (by the engineer) to the supervisor and notifies the engineer on completion. The workflow is

designed to work from both the QM transactions and the custom Webdynrpos (designed for MPRs). The

custom WDA is enhanced to display the reassignment task if available. The WDA is enhanced to allow

edit/display/hide the new view based on user roles and current notification status.

• Enhanced the performance of DPPM (custom inspection metrics report) report by redesigning the data

fetching logic. The job now takes 1 minute (down from earlier 60 mins) for a 30 day period.

• Designed and developed the solution to create Purchase requisitions from Work Orders and routing the PR

approvals using release strategy. The release strategy workflow works gets triggered during PR save and

gets completed once all the approvers for that release strategy approves it item. Also did enhancements to

link documents in Work orders to PR items

• Designed a complete end to end Webdypnro ABAP application to manage Supplier Score cards. The

dashboard developed in WDA generates score cards and sends it to suppliers. The returned scores are

uploaded through the dashboard and displayed to user in editable table. The user can then edit the scores

and freeze them

• Designed an interactive offline adobe form for Supplier Score Card. The form gets generated in SAP and is

sent to supplier as an email attachment. The supplier fills up the ratings and sends it back. The received form

is processed in SAP and ratings are uploaded into the system.

• Designed and developed dialog module for creating Customers and Customer Contacts

• Enhanced existing custom transactions to add new functionality

• Developed reports to delink projects and to regenerate security codes

• Lead offshore team in managing and designing technical solutions for various client projects (From May 2013

Client: Baker Hughes, USA

Dates: April 2013 to May 2013

Key contributions:

• Worked in AP Notification Workflow project offshore team. The project started with a one line requirement of

automating all the approval steps in notification workflow with a single click of button in Outlook email.

• Within short duration understood all the workflows involved in Notification approval process (with no

documentation available) and defined the scope, exceptions of the project. Designed and developed the

complete solution within the 3 weeks’ timeline. Though the go-live got delayed, the entire solution was in

place within the original timeline. This was in addition to my regular work in other project.

Client: Southern California Electric, USA

Dates: June 2010 to April 2013

Position: Technical Architect/Project Manager

Key contributions:

• Designed technical solutions for various complex processes in PM, HR, SAP PPM & SAP SRM modules

• Designed the applications for Greensheet project. The project involved in routing the SAP Vehicle Repair

Notifications for processing to various teams and bringing the notification to completion. The workflow gets

triggered on notification creation and is completed upon closure of all the notification tasks. The approval step

in the workflow has 3 options (Approve, Reject, Pending) with deadline monitoring activated. The Pending

option switches off the deadline monitoring for all the agents and gets activated when one of the agents acts

on the workitem.

• Lead the E1P1 project that involved in enhancing the existing Notification and WO flow between different

systems for E1P1 (priority 1) notifications

• Designed the Routing framework in WDA for Work Order Collaboration for SUS project. The routing WDA

component is reusable and is incorporated in 4 other existing WDAs. The routing WDA is highly generic and

generates action buttons and UIs based on the parent WDA component. Events are generated for user

actions and are handled in the parent WDA component.

• Designed the Smart Intake application that involved developing RIA in Flex for Injury Management. The

transactional data is stored and retrieved from SAP

• Designed the applications for RSMIP project – an Enterprise Compensation Management project that

involved developing custom objects for Eligibility, Budgeting and Compensation Dashboard

• Designed the backend logic for Personal Development Plan (PDP) project. PDP has frontend in Flex calling

RFCs/Webservices in SAP. Also converted the existing PDP Smartform to Adobeform to achieve the RTF

feature. The solution involved in converting and formatting the text as per XHTML standards

• Designed a workflow for notification task approval. A notification tasks can only be completed based on a

custom table entries. The workflow has a loop within which it seeks for approval, for each loop pass the WF

determines the next set of agents and exits once all the approvers approve it. Upon on successful completion

the notification task is updated.

• Designed Need Dashboard ABAP Web Dynpro application in PPM system that manages Need

creation/update/submission. Needs upon submission goes through an approval workflow and upon final

approval gets created as a PPM item.

• Created custom adobe forms for Need sheet, Project & Portfolio summary in PPM system. The summary also

prints questionnaire data from the project item. The layout adapts based on answer type for each question

(answers can be in form of checkboxes, radio buttons, long texts etc)

• Modified standard Web Dynpro to enhance the PPM item screens to include custom text fields. These text

fields are dynamic and depend on portfolio type

• Designed adobe form for to display Supplier Routing data in SUS (SRM system). The adobe form is

completely dynamic in nature. It reads the dynamic table (table can have any number of columns depending

on configuration) meta data from the context and generates the table for display using XFA object model

• Setup ALE model to distribute business partner data from SAP to PPM system.

• Setup partner profile and ALE model to distribute HR data (time and leave data) to other SAP systems

• Extended the standard Idoc type to add new custom fields

• Developed a WDA component with FPM for offboarding application. The application gathers data of an

employee for offboarding through a 3 step process. The application also have features to upload excel

documents that are attached to the employee record

• Lead the technical team in various projects like NERC, Disability, Smart Intake Phase 2, Open Text, Master

Management Systems, Greensheet Phase 2, Phase 3, Onboarding & Offboarding etc.
