Retrofits project. Installing chiller plant upgrades, thermal storage, heat
recovery, lighting upgrades, and automation system. Energy savings will
provide project payback within 4 years. At Covidien Augusta Site -
requested by client VP to be assigned to the project - providing
construction and QC oversight for a $882k Energy conservation project -
installing boiler economizer and well - to provide energy savings with a
39% Rate of Return.

SAVANNAH RIVER SITE, Aiken, SC, Senior Project Manager - contract extended
per VP request - for federally funded projects at the Savannah River
Nuclear Site. Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including
managing project teams, scope development, budget estimates, scheduling,
and completion within time constraints.
Developed two Major System Acquisition (MSA) Packages for a multi-story
$100M Emergency Services and Data Center for the Savannah River Site (SRS).
Both efforts were on schedule and under budget.
Concurrent projects involved renovation of a 30 year old warehouse into a
museum quality "Curation Facility" for SRS artifacts, and building a
Classified Computer Vault Type Room in an existing operating Data Center.
Oversaw both Design and Construction - both projects met schedule
deadlines.

Coordinated design and construction of ongoing projects with Strategic Plan
and available funding. Led project teams for design, operations,
construction and engineering.
Principal Engineer, Fire Protection Engineering (1999-2000)
Organized, planned, and scheduled fire protection projects. Spearheaded
project that replaced fire alarms that exceeded DOE milestone. Obtained
financing from multiple divisions and led design, procurement, and
construction of over 50 systems. Accomplished the near impossible in 7
months.
Manager, Self-Assessments and Financial Support (1997-1998)
Reorganized budgeting and financial reporting for two departments ($36M
total budget). Achieved actual expenditures within 1% of FY98 budget.
Manager, Central Functions, Fire Protection Program Department (1994-1997)
Played key role in the turnaround of a dysfunctional engineering
department. Developed a strong fire protection team and management of the
department budget and expenditures. Developed and implemented the FPPD

WESTINGHOUSE IDAHO NUCLEAR CO, Idaho Site; Project Engineer
1977-1990
Project Engineer on $250M project to build a new multi-level uranium
solvent extraction facility. Wrote the justification document (entered into
the Library of Congress), worked piping and mechanical systems, lead the
design of the control room and the development of the system testing
program.
Project Engineer on $80M project to build a new multi-level fluidized bed
waste calcination facility; worked on piping and mechanical systems and
headed up the development of the operating procedures.
OLIN CHEMICALS, Stamford, CT; Process Engineer
1973-1977
For several chemical plant projects, developed P&IDs, wrote process
equipment specifications (heat exchangers, pumps, etc.), reviewed and
approved vendor quotes and submittals, assisted in startups. The projects
included a pneumatic soda ash conveying system and a waste stream
clarification and settling pond system.

. Developed two Critical Decision packages (CD 0) for a major
acquisition project; the first was for a hardened Emergency Response
Center (i.e., a 911 center) $62M, the second to include a hardened
data center $150M. Project shelved due to lack of funding.
. Road renovation - lead the design development for a major road
rebuilding effort $21M. Project shelved due to lack of funding.
. Steam Trap inspections - lead the effort to inspect all site steam
traps (2500) to satisfy a DOE-HQ safety concern. Completed on schedule

$420M project; was responsible for scope definition for remaining
portion of project (~$150M).
