Qualifications

Senior engineering student with three years of materials science laboratory and research

experience. Proficient in several materials processing, fabrication, and analysis instruments and

techniques. Proven ability to write technical documents. Quick learner, excellent team player,

high interpersonal skills.

Education

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Materials Science & Engineering. B.S. May 2014

Relevant Coursework

Polymer physical chemistry, plastics engineering, polymer laboratory, package engineering,

engineering graphics & design, numerous upper-level engineering and laboratoy classes

Technical Skills

Plastics extrusion, micro/nanofabrication & analysis of materials (clean room, microscopy,

surface & thermal analysis, tensile testing, etc.), AutoDesk Inventor & AutoCAD, MatLab, Origin

Graphing Software, Microsoft Office

Experience

Boeing Airplane Insulation Design. January 2014 to present.

Currently fabricating and testing polymer aerogels for implementation into aircraft fuselage

insulation system. Results will be presented to The Boeing Company for new airplane program.

Polymer Processing Institute. Newark, New Jersey. June to August 2013.

Oversaw extrusion of polyethylene resin formulations in a twin screw extruder to simulate large

scale production for petrochemical company client. Monitored integral extrusion factors such as

feed rate, screw torque, and melt temperature of varying die metals. Qualitatively captured

buildup in dies using optical microscopy. Assisted in pharmaceutical hot melt extrusion &

extrusion of plastic wrap, various polyolefins and rubbers.

Rogers Research Group. Flexible Electronics. UIUC. May 2012 to February 2013.

Quantitatively investigated mechanical properties of silicones used in fabrication of micro &

nanoscale stretchable electronic devices. Studied wrapping behavior of thin films on irregular &

curvilinear surface geometries, mimicking behavior of bioelectronics when integrated with

human body. Fabricated pre-strained serpentine electronics with high buckling frequency to

improve stretchability of devices by 70%. Submitted final results in form of report & presentation.

Engineering Open House 2011. Enzyme Biosensors. UIUC. January to March 2011.

Constructed homemade glucometer using diabetes strips & low-cost circuit. Demonstrated

blood glucose measurement procedure at EOH 2011.

Bio-blend Fuel Performance. UIUC. October to December 2010.

Analyzed performance of different ethanol and pure diesel blends in diesel engines with a

dynamometer. Evaluated fuel consumption, torque, brake power, and heat of combustion to

assess efficiency of blends.

Additional Employment

Monmouth County Parks System. Seasonal Park Ranger. Summer 2011.

Marlboro Learning Center. Exam Proctor/Secretary. 2010 to 2013 (Part Time)
