of a larger materials management system while an SAP

materials management system was being implemented to

replace the existing system. Endevor was used for version

control. Used SPUFI and QMF for DB2 queries. Created jobs and

catalogued procedures with JCL. Used TSO/ISPF for text

editing. November 2013 - Present.

State of Arizona Department of Economic Security, Phoenix, AZ. Using COBOL

and DB2, performed maintenance and enhancement tasks on a system to track

subsidies for adoptive and foster parents. Wrote new programs to create

letters for purposes of annually reviewing who was eligible for continued

guardianship subsidies. Used SPUFI for queries/mass data updates. Wrote

programs to track children who were removed from homes and still in the

court system. Used CA Gen to create a system to allow users in the field

to maintain security (passwords, etc.), thereby saving expenses related to

a third party product which they used only once a month. Created jobs and

State of Missouri Department of Social Services, Jefferson

City, Missouri. Coded COBOL/DB2/CICS Webaware

programs in support of contracts between Child Services and

foster/adoptive parents and other child services providers.

Used Dreamweaver to lay out web page design and then translated the

Dreamweaver generated HTML to HTML that was actually usable in

the application. Also modified COBOL/CICS Webaware

CoreLogic, Westlake, Texas. Participated in an effort

to convert a

COBOL/ADABAS system to COBOL/DB2. Developed COBOL/DB2

programs that interfaced with Software AG's EntireX

communication broker, which, in turn, communicated with

web pages developed in Java. Was involved

in performance tuning of DB2 cursors that were used for

search queries. Used

BMC to run Explains in order to determine best use of

table indexes. Used

Desktop QMF, Endevor and Endevor QuickEdit. February/2011 -

Vanguard Funds, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Participated in an effort to

convert thirty Sybase stored procedures into DB/2 stored procedures.

Stored procedures were COBOL programs with embedded SQL. Endevor was used

as version control/compilation tool. Used MicroFocus Mainframe Express as

a debugging too. Participated in daily scrum sessions as part of the Agile

methodology. September/2010 - February/2010.

Queensland Transport and Main Roads, Brisbane, Queensland, Using Cool:Gen

7.6, maintained a licensing and registration system. Tasks included

changing server applications and generating Java EAR files/WAS servers.

Worked with Component Based Development (CBD). Also made changes to COBOL

programs and analyzed the system for changes resulting in detailed program

specifications. Used GuardIEn and Access Gen for accessing the CSE.

Specifically used GuardIEn for subsetting and model compares.

January/2009 - September/2010.

UPS, Scranton, Pennsylvania, Using Cool:Gen 6.0, Advantage Gen 6.5 and

Oracle, made changes to an existing cost accounting system used to track

and allocate costs to various truck, plane and ship bound shipments. Using

Kornshell and Perl scripting along with PL/SQL and ESP, I automated a

previously manual batch process. Also was responsible for generating and

testing the system in Advantage Gen 6.5 in anticipation for conversion from

Cool Gen 6.0 to Advantage Gen 6.5. Toad and SQL Developer were used as the

database interfaces . Sun Solaris Unix was the operating system.

June/2006 - December/2008.

Publix Super Markets, Lakeland, Florida. Using Cool:Gen 6.0 wrote both GUI

and batch programs to support a supply chain management system that

interfaced with a.NET application through Websphere MQ. Wrote COBOL/DB2

programs. Also used FMDB2. Mar/2006 - June, 2006.

State of Missouri Department of Social Services, Jefferson

City, Missouri

Made enhancements and performed maintenance duties with an existing

Temporary Assistance and Food Stamps system. Analyzed and wrote

specifications for development of new Medicaid interface Modules while also

writing those new modules. Programming was done in Cool:Gen 6.0, COBOL

DB2 and CICS under the MVS operating system. Used SPUFI and QMF along with

Xpediter, Fileaid and Platinum as debugging tools. Sept/2005 - Mar/2006.

MBNA America, Dallas, Texas. Supporting a credit card

promotions system, wrote DB2 stored procedures for

table maintenance that were called via external action blocks

in Advantage Gen and several Cobol conversion programs to take

existing DB2 tables and QSAM files, convert the record layouts and write

the new format record to the Websphere MQ Queue for

further processing in the job stream. Used MVS, ISPF, COBOL,

DB2 and Websphere MQ Series on an IBM mainframe under an MVS

operating system. Used COBOL, DB2 Stored

Procedures and Websphere MQ to write applications that

interfaced with a Java rules engine that calculated points

available to credit card customers as rewards for using

their credit cards. Performing on-call duties in support of System

Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing were also part

of my duties. Endevor was used for version control.

Apr/2004 - Sept/2005

Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles, California. Using Cool:Gen 5.1, I made

enhancements to a membership system to allow for flexibility in enrollments

(e. g., higher deductible and lower premium or higher premium and lower

deductible) of new customers. This was an effort to make the company more

competitive in the market place. A mix of block mode and GUI were used.

The target was CICS/MVS on an IBM Mainframe. I also coded native COBOL/DB2

programs. Sept/2003 - Apr/2004

Lowes Companies, Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Using Cool:Gen 6.0, I made

enhancements to an existing inventory replenishment system. This was a

GUI/Client Server and web based system. Component based development was

used. I generated ASP and VB com proxies. OCX and OLE controls were used

extensively. The server was an IBM mainframe operating in a CICS region.

Apr/2003 - Sept/2003

JCPenney, Plano, Texas. Using Cool:Gen 5.1, I made changes to an existing

block mode system which runs under MVS on an IBM mainframe. My specific

duties were to make changes to the advertisement planning and pagination

systems so that the marketing department could track more closely the

effect on sales of certain national advertisement campaigns. Other duties

included writing COBOL programs to extract data from the DB2 tables for

loading to the Teradata tables. Writing specifications, designing DB2

tables and testing were included in all these tasks. Sep/2002 - Apr/2003

State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Madison, Wisconsin. Using

Cool:Gen 5.1, I worked on the team that rewrote the titling and

registration system of the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

My specific duties included the writing of the subsystem that calculated

all fees for titling and registration. Part of my duties included training

and assigning tasks to a person who was new to Cool:Gen. The environment

was GUI/Client Server and batch on an IBM mainframe under an MVS operating

system using DB2 and CICS. I wrote both batch procedures and GUI clients,

along with servers. UDB 7.0 was used for data manipulation and testing. I

wrote JCL for executing batch procedures. TSO/ISPF, SPUFI and QMF were

used for interfacing with and testing on the mainframe. Jan/2002 -

IBM/Nissan, Smyrna, Tennessee. Wrote COBOL/DB2 programs to extract data

from an IBM mainframe legacy system and providing interfaces to an SAP

system. The environment was Windows NT and 200, IBM/MVS, using JCL, TSO/

ISPF, Fileaid and Xpediter. July/2001 - Jan/2002

Accenture, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Using Cool:Gen 4.1, performed

maintenance/enhancement tasks on existing State of New Mexico Child Support

System. Target was IBM mainframe with CICS/DB2. As part of my tasks, I

created my own aggregate sets and migrated my own code changes from model

EDS/NHIC, Austin, Texas. Using component-based development with the

Cool:Gen (version 5.0) tool, I helped in the development of the Claims

processing system for Texas Medicaid. I was specifically responsible for

the analyis, development and user support of claims processing for the

Nursing Facilities subsystem. The environment was GUI, Client/Server and

Tandem. Used GuardIEn for subsetting. Jan/1999 - Feb/2000

applications

for an internal customer in Des Moines, Iowa to insure Y2K compliance.

Kohler Company, Kohler, Wisconsin. Performed QA/Testing

functions during

final phase of Y2K project. COBOL/DB2/Cool:gen were used. May/1998 -

JCPenney Life Insurance, Plano, Texas. Worked on system to allow for

direct

withdrawals from bank accounts as a means of allowing customers to pay for

services such as travel and auto clubs. This was a GUI -Client/Server

application developed with Cool:gen, with COBOL/CICS/DB2 as the target

server platform and C /Windows NT as the target Client platform.

March/1998 - May/1998

LabCorp, Burlington, North Carolina. Worked on eligibility subsystem of

larger

billing system, making changes to allow for the recoupment of several

millions of dollars in unpaid bills. System was developed in IEF/Composer

with COBOL/DB2/CICS as a target environment. Nov/1997 - March/1998

Harris Corporation/FBI, Melbourne, Florida. Worked as part of an

integration

test team for the development of the National Crime Information Center

upgrade/rewrite for the FBI. System was written in IEF/Composer with

COBOL/DB2/CICS/CICSPLEX in an MVS SYSPLEX environment as the target.

Feb/1997 - Nov/1997

ISSC/State of Missouri, Jefferson City, Missouri. Worked as part of a team

to make fixes to the State of Missouri Automated Child Support System as a

result of integration testing and in preparation for final user acceptance

testing. Used IEF/Composer 5.3 with COBOL/CICS/DB2 as a target

environment. Sept/1996 - Feb/1997

ISSC/State of North Dakota, Bismarck, ND. Coded functional prototypes in

support of analysts for Asset Management and Audit Trail subsystems of a

greater Welfare Reform system. Also wrote the actual code for those

applications. Environment was IEF Composer Windows Client/Server.

Windows were operated under OS/2 and Server applications were targeted to

DB/2 on an MVS server under a CICS region. Also attended a week of

training in building client/server applications with GUI. This training

was performed by Texas Instruments at one of their remote training sites.

March/1996 - Sept/1996

Consolidated Freightways Coded online screens in a

CICS/DB2 environment,

the purpose of which was to automate a paper-based fuel accounting system.

Roadway Regional Group Involved in a pilot project to

determine the efficiecy

of I/O routines. Included in this task was the rewrite of

the server side of a previously written IEF Composer

Windows Client/Server application, The purpose of

this task was to compare SQL calls generated by IEF Composer

with IEF Composer External Action blocks that called ORACLE stored

procedures. Testing was done on an OS/2 workstation

accessing ORACLE databases on the HP/9000 via ORACLE

SQLNET. Oct/1995 - Jan/1996

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Ohio. Performed many

maintenance tasks to existing IEF -based systems.

Primary duties were making enhancements to the

Mainframe-to-PC sales/marketing interface. IEF 5.3 Composer was used in

BDM Technologies, Jefferson City, Missouri. Using IEF

5.3 Composer, made

major improvements/enhancements to the Conversion/BAA Data

Model. Also

created and refined Activity Hierarchy Diagram. Acted as technical

as Project Model Coordinator and assisted the Central Encyclopedia

BellSouth Services, Birmingham, Alabama. Using IEF 5.2, MS Windows, MS

Word, and MS EXCEL, wrote functional and detail

Materials subsystem of the larger Outside Procurement and

Materials (OSPCM) system. Tasks included work on the data

model, user

interviews and documentation of those user interviews with

the end-result

being functional specifications and detail specifications.

A Local Area

Network and Mainframe COBOL/CICS/DB2 were the target environments. Also

coded in IEF 5.2 for a Buyer Contract Performance system and for a network

system which provided data to the billing system. March/1994 - Jan/1995

Texas Instruments, Plano, Texas. Using IEF 5.2 on the

Local Area Network

and OS/2 2.1 and OS/MVS/ESA operating systems, worked in

conjunction with Texas Instruments to create online

Purchase Agreement transactions as part of a larger

Order Processing System for a third-party client. Target online

environment was IMS and DB2, which included manipulation

of MFS for transaction switching. All code generation and

testing was on the LAN prior to generating and testing

on the mainframe. SQL on the LAN via OS2 used

extensively. Functions included subsetting and scoping the model in the

encyclopedia; action diagramming in the BSD; and

Construction. Extensive use of the debug facility

of IEF. All project documentation and standards were

kept on Lotus Notes. Jan/1994 - March/1994

Perot Systems/Northern States Power, Minneapolis,

Minnesota. Using IEF

5.1 under the OS/2 2.1 and OS/MVS/ESA environments, worked in conjunction

with Perot Systems to develop a meter lot/testing tracking

system for Northern

States Power of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Coded online

applications to track

lot jobs and tasks. Functions included subsetting and

scoping the model

in the encyclopedia; action diagramming, dialogue design and screen design

in the BSD; and Construction. Extensive use of the debug facility of IEF.

Texas Instruments, Plano, Texas. Using IEF and DB2, provided major

enhancements by modifying transactions to track whether or not hazardous

materials being handled by the chemicals division of the semi-conductor

operations were permitted. Extensive use of external action blocks

included. Also included was the use of SPUFI along with DB2/SQL calls in

COBOL II programs. IEF functions included subsetting and scoping the model

in the encyclopedia; action diagramming in the BSD; Technical Design;

Construction. Extensive use of the debug facility of IEF. Apr/1993 -

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas, Topeka, Kansas.

Documented and made

user requested changes to the claims processing system.

This included

the use of COBOL, COBOL II, IMS, DB/DC and DB2. Extensive use of SPUFI

coding of online

system for tracking refunds of customers who overpaid their freight bills.

This was done in COBOL II, DB2 and IMS DB/DC. XPEDITER and FILE-

Senior Programmer/Analyst. Responsible for the analysis,

development and

support of Manufacturing and Transportation Systems for

chemical plants

Was a user of a Local Area Network. Specific subsystems included a

Tracking System for the tracking of shipments of methanol from Canada to

the U. S., a Barge/Ship Scheduling and Tracking Subsystem, an Employee

System. Using POSE (Picture Oriented Software Engineering), created data

model

of the new Ship/Barge Scheduling System to be developed in DB2. Used this

tool to normalize resultant database, to generate DDLAs for DB2 and to

write pseudo-code from which the program logic could be coded.
