RG Steel/WCI Steel, Warren, OH 1995 to 2012

Operating Tech - Responsible for tapping heats in a vessel. Mixed raw material to make correct chemistry for different types of carbon and alloys. Drain, transfer, or remove molten metal from furnaces, and place it into molds, using hoists, pumps, or ladles. Operated controls to move or discharge metal work pieces from furnaces. Removed impurities from the surface of molten metal, using strainers. Worked on pickle finish line with responsibilities of drawing samples for laboratory analysis, or test solutions for conformance to specifications, such as acidity or specific gravity. Measured dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. Set up, operated, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, load materials and products into machines and equipment, or onto conveyors, using hand tools and moving devices. Operated remote cranes and ran Bobcats, forklifts and coil haulers.

Extrusion Operator - Ran extruders for automotive and aerospace products. Started machines and set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure, sizing rings, and temperature, and to synchronize speed of extrusion. Determined setup procedures and select machine dies and parts, according to specifications. Reel extruded products into rolls of specified lengths and weights.

Extrusion Operator - Ran wire extruders for automotive and appliances. Used many different types of compounds used in extrusion. Adjusted controls to set temperatures of coating substances and speeds of machines and equipment. Cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils, using pliers and wire scrapers.
