Skills of Work Experience: For my work experience in July 2012, I worked at Corpus Christi Catholic College in the technology department. I got involved in working with and helping students with their work and seeing what it is like to be a textiles teacher, as this is part of what i want to carry on with as a career in the future.

In September 2012 I worked in Lou Lou Puchelka as a sales assistant for 4 weeks for some experience at the start of year 11. As I took part at this institution I learnt a lot of key skills that will help me with my future career. This shop is a one-off designer shop which sells wedding jewellery and accessories. In the future I will hopefully be a designer for my very own products. I learnt to deal with customers in a polite manner and reassure them how creative and great the shop is.

I worked in Leeds Kirkgate Market at a cheese and meat deli and I got loads of experience in working with cash tills and multi-tasking. I also got experience by serving customers in a polite and enthusiastic manner and had to be as quick as I could as it was also a fast food deli. I also have experience in cleaning around the shop and making sure the shelves are stacked fully and appropriately.

I worked at this institution to get work experience in working around a salon and promoting leaflets. I worked here every Saturday 9:00am until 5:00pm. It was very good as I learnt how to shave men’s hair and beard and how to wash hair with an Indian massage. While I wasn’t in the shop I was outside the shop walking around the city centre promoting leaflets to people and telling them what the shop is about. I got a lot of customers to come to our shop and get their hair done. I have great experience in promoting and dealing with customers in a polite way and very outgoing towards people to get them to visit the shop to get their hair done.

As I worked in this salon I got a lot of experience in working with people, cleaning and washing male and female’s hair with special treatment and Indian massage. I had to work in a very enthusiastic manner and be extremely polite towards customers. I had to be very chatty and friendly towards customers to make them feel welcome and comfortable in our environment at the shop. I made drinks and make sure they are satisfied.

Hobbies and Interests

In my spare time I enjoy textiles, dance and socialising with friends.
